I was calling for Lance's head to be honest but why can't we support him? Its easy to say drop him, rest him etc but it takes real guts to back an out of form player in and stand up for him

Obviously I'm old fashioned but If the kids are busting a butt in the VFL and performing, they deserve promotion.
I dont mind if there are no spots available but Lance unfortunately isnt earning his spot at the moment IMO.

If Harts is firing, He deserves a game.
There has to be a clear system in place. If you perform and the incumbents dont, you get their spot. Anything else compromises the message we should be sending.

Whilst I have been a member of TC for quite a while, I have yet to post anything. However, after reading Smith's article, I can't resist. I know he is only a sports journalist- and lets face it, a sports journalist is at the bottom of the journalistic food chain- but, as usual, his article is riddled with inaccuracies, half-truths and misinformation. No doubt, as all credible journalists would, he has spoken to Lance about his current situation. Perhaps then again he has not and is still not over THAT goal in the 99 prelim. We all know that Smith is an unashamed Essendon* supporter and that his personal attack on Lance reflects generally the attitude shown by the majority of Essendon* supporters who seem fixated by personal attacks on Carlton players. If I had a dollar for every time your common garden gnome Essendon* supporter said " Kernahan you Poofter" I'd be a rich person. Come to think of it, when at the footy, Essendon* supporters have a peculiar and, may I suggest, unhealthy obsession with bodily parts and exhibit a degree of homophobia matched only by Collingwood supporters. I digress . Amongst the usual inaccuracies in his article was this pearler, and I quote: " Whitnall had just four kicks in the surprise win over Richmond." "Surprise win", I think not. Well Smithy, I just checked the meaning of surprise in the dictioanary and got this: "the feeling or mental state, akin to astonishment and wonder, caused by an unexpected occurrence or circumstance." Well I tried to put some hard earned on the Blues to beat the Tigers but as we were the clear favourites, I baulked. How can this excuse for a journalist get away with saying that it was a surprise win? You'd call our win in the 99 prelim a surprise, you'd call Mal Michael's recruitment to Essendon* a surprise(some would say a disgrace and not in the spirit of footy), you'd call Lloyd standing his ground after being touched in the back a surprise, you'd call Sheedy saying he had an ageing side a surprise ( I do, however invite Sheeds to check the ages of this potential goal to goal line-Michael, Fletcher, Hird, Lucas, Lloyd) but please please don't refer to our win over Richmond as a 'surprise win' you journalist baboon.

Sadly AGRO, I am not he. Though I consider that the great number 13 was the man who had the perfect physique for his time ( let's face it he was the precursor to Kouta). Trouble was that Eric could not play. He was an endless source of frustration . Am I being too harsh?
