Jackson... Young.... Jacobs....

Think Sake is injured so might be out of contention.

I think Jackson should be elevated as it's his second year on the Rookie list and needs to make a statement now.

Thoughts?

Walker says Young!

My pick? I’d say Ross Young – there’s a spot available now and he keeps on playing well for the Bullants.

Ryan Jackson should get the nod. He was impressive on debut last year and adds a bit more running power to the lineup. Having played in 3 NAB Cup games the club obviously are keen on developing him. However Carlton historically have been conservative in promoting rookies so it wouldn't surprise if nobody got promoted at this stage of the season.

He was suspended for 2 games for striking in a VFL practice match. He continued to play practice matches, but had to miss Rd 1. Presumably, he'll miss this week too (though I don't know if he can count Rd 1 of the AFL games in his 2).

Has Sake been training? I heard from a little birdy that he was still feeling groin soreness. Maybe wrong. Hope I'm wrong. He'll be an awesome with a few more games under his belt.

InjuryUpdate lists Aisake with a groin strain sustained around Rnd 1 and with an anticipate return by Rnd 4.

Jackson is in his last year as a rookie and he hasn't put a foot wrong. He's proven that he has the right attitude on the track and does very well at VFL level, the only concern is going to be his lack of leg-speed and that's never going to change. So Grigg's misfortune could be an opportune time to give Jacko a few games in the ones to show he's a candidate to be elevated at year's end.

By all reports both Young & Jackson (thirsty anyone???) were in good form for the Ants on Sunday but my only concern is will either play if elevated? Wouldn't Blackwell be ahead of both in terms of elevation if this was to happen? No point elevating either if they will continue to play with the Ants

I agree with this. Jackson if anyone though, he was unlucky not to be promoted last year.

Someone with a bit of dash.. we seem to be in dire need of pace through the midfield

Youngy for me.
Gives us a bit of variety. Zippy left footer who uses the ball quite well as a rule. He also can kick goals.

I like Jacko but he doesnt have a position at the moment. I'd give him more time to develop as a run with player. At the moment we have enough of them in the seniors.

Agree with BV

Blackwell would be picked ahead of Jackson, and they're both too similar.... Young is a bit different.... I like him. I'd promote Young

Unless you count Aisake... there's no one on the rookie list that qualifies.

no need to talk about elevating rookies at this stage....grigg wasnt getting a game in the ones so there is no need to replace his spot on the senior list, just makes room for someone from the bullants 2's to take the opportunity. hopefully austin can step up. thats the more realistic expectation.

i would be extremely surprised if someone was elevated off the rookie list at all let alone elevated and then given a senior guernsey.

if they are good enough to be elevated and walk straight into the senior side ahead of the likes of blackwell, anderson, edwards, hampson, et al, then the recruiting team have made a mistake and they should have been senior listed in the first place.

They didn't bring anybody in for Kouta and can't see them bringing anybody for Grigg.

Like BnZ said we have enough options already in the likes of Harts, Blackers, Edwards and so on.

Wont happen.
