After reading TC postings over the last couple of months I have decided to throw my hat in the ring.

This particular thread is very disappointing.

The Carlton Football Club was once called the "greatest sporting club in Australia".

I ask you why?

I believe that is was touted the "greatest" because on and off the field Carltonians were:

1. Passionate
2. Loyal
3. Brethren

When other clubs would kick and scream, we would calmly confront our problems and solve them.

We have lived in a supporters "Hell" since 2001.

Everything that could have gone wrong has.

We have all had supporters over other clubs defame us, ridicule us and treat us like shit.

The media has gloated at our failure, Wilson, Smith, Russell and many others have sunk their boots in at every opportunity.

The AFL put us on a crucfix and attempted to kill our great club.

HOWEVER

We could not be killed!

We survived the biggest lynching in AFL history and NOW we stand united like never before.

Denis Pagan has not been a very good coach...but remember who employed him!

Malouf has made some errors...particularly in recruiting but he is leaving.

Smorgon and Collins were incredibly selfish administrators and they are now gone!

In 2007 we begin our climb back to the top.

Gibbs, Murphy, Ohalpin, Simpson, Grigg, Russell, Jackson, Fisher, Hampson, Walker, Thornton and company are the future of this great club.

NONE OF THESE KIDS ARE READY TO CAPTAIN OUR CLUB!

Whitnall, Lappin, Houlihan and Kouta are veterans and every club needs veterans around the club to educate their kids.

Leave the veterans alone...they are going to be retired sooner than later and lets face it...we are not going to win the 2007 premiership.

It is time to band together and support the club and each other.

That is what makes Carlton better than the rest.

I will support Carlton until I die...with pride.

I hope that all of you can respect my opinion.

Bluebeard

I have backed Lance through thick and thin over the last few years, however I do think he needs to be 'rested' for a couple of weeks to get both body and mind in order. Continuing on in his present frame of mind is only going to compound the problem.

Lets just sack the entire coaching staff and run the team by SMS vote on the big screen. You'll be able to vote if Waite should be moved forward at half-time, if Bentick is looking a little tired and needs a rest 23mins into the 2nd qtr.

Of course we'll have to employ someone to decide which moves we'll have the power to decide and we'll only be able to make 2 moves a quarter as it'll take that long to get all the votes in.

Was just having a thought a few moments ago..

What IF on Saturday, Lance unfortunately goes down with a season-ending knee injury? I shiver thinking of what the reception would be like with him being stretchered off the field... :?

Now I do not in any way want this to happen - I don't wish serious injury to ANY player...Lance has no real role in our side, and the game is just slowly (or is that QUICKLY) passing him by...but if the staff are supporting him, then we as supporters need to as well. Just hope he finds some form

Just wondering what people think would be heard if Lance were to seriously injur himself this weekend? I shudder to think...

My Non-Carlton friends think Carlton Supporters are ferral. This thread and some threads on this website prove it.

When we beat the scum by a point and Whitnall kicks 5 and also kicks the winning goal after the siren you will all jump on his bandwagon.

I have been told by a guy that works in my company who became quite chummy with Pagan after writing him a letter of support a few years ago, which resulted in him spending the day with DP - training, team meetings etc that Lance's issue relates to one of his kids being seriously ill i.e. in and out of hospital.

This guy is quite adamant about it.

I'm not sure if it is true and I have no idea how to confirm this but thought that I would post.

If that's the case DUC, even more reason to drop him - unless he's using footy as an outlet to try to not think about it.

If Lance does a knee on Saturday - I won't be singing and dancing about it - you don't wish injury on anyone. I just want him judged based on his form which at the moment, you cannot deny is poor. If that was Adam Hartlett getting 4 kicks and no marks a game, he wouldn't last long in the side - why should Lance?

I heard Whintall is really concerned about climate change and the political situation in Iraq, and that is what's affecting his game.

If that is the case, and seeing how it is yet to be released to the public (probably by choice), then what gives you the right to publish that on here, when the player has opted to take the private route about it?

Surely have some consideration for the player's personal life in that sense, rather than just looking for who can have the best "inside sources'

Sorry but Mooney kicked his few on Lance.. so did Hawkins and so did Ablett... everyone kicked a few on Lance....
But yeah... he did set the losing tone...

You cant be led by a loser and expect to be competitive... that by definition is not what winning is about..

Synbad seriously you just dislike Whitnall and thats it, how about the goals kicked on Ohailpin, how about the bloke that was on Gary Ablett... you just dont like Whitnall. Why dont you sayOttens kicked goals on Whitnall, and so did every other player?

I want to see you bag him after this weekend when he towels up Essendon*!

I think tap in 79 has achieved what he was aiming at with a stirring tread, good on him he got the result he aimed at, but it makes me laugh though with some posters its alright for certain players to play below AFL standard footy (not naming any player/s) and on the other hand want to lynch other players at every chance they get.

Its filling up the main board or maybe just dump all the lance thread into Talking Players
