C'mon, lay off tap in 79 guys, he is a good bloke (helps out with the Blueseum occassionaly) and loves the Blues just like we all do.

We all might not agree on all the players or coaches we like or dislike in particular but the reaction in this thread has gone over the top IMO. I've seen far worse posts and criticisms of Lance get far less reaction than this. Also in general far worse posts and threads get less reaction than this (including many of mine  ).

I know some of you are frustrated but try to stay away from any personal stuff or going OTT. Unless it is about dannyboy of course.

Good luck with that!

Start one for Fev while you're at it, after all, he didn't manage 1 goal last week - maybe he needs a run in the 2s.

I think only the moderators can start polls?

It didn't work for me anyway.

OK - So anyone who thinks I am out of order - ask yourself this?

How many poor games can Lance play with his injury before he is omitted? should we wait until his 8th poor game in a row? or his ninth?

This is the 6th game in a row where Lance has been carrying an injury?... and quite frankly I am tired of records being broken against Carlton. Anyone who witnessed that Geelong game wants to see improvement...not the status quo.

I saw status quo at Festival Hall a few years back and also thought they were disappointing. :)

Down Down, deeper and down...

If he's carrying an injury he should be "rested".... I reckon any player who's even only 90% should be rested.... it helps with the rotation and getting games into kids.

I think if he has even a slight niggle, "rest" him, announce to the media that he's been carrying an injury (like Collingwood did with Tarrant a couple of years ago) and drop him for Edwards or Hartlett

I agree Tyrant.

If he is carrying an injury then give him a rest and play either Hartlett or Edwards.

Some of you are no better than tap79. You’re sh*tcanning him for having a go at Lance and yet you have a go at tap79 in return? You’re complaining that he’s not a real supporter and you turn on your own supporters with such pearlers as these:

When you're a shit team, getting low-level injuries is a good way to rotate young players in for experience.....

I suppose the flip side of the coin is that if a player is carrying a slight niggle he's less likely to report it if he knows he'll be dropped for it

The first AFL club that fully embraces the concept of "resting" players at all levels, especially the players, will get a huge jump forward IMO

I third the resting option and I would love to see Edwards get a run in the seniors.

Fair enough.

The people have voted.

The people have chosen that they want Lance in the team no matter what. I thought if he was carrying an injury some time off would be beneficial. He also has some family issues that are obviously weighing him down. Either way, I am obviously in the minority - and like most minorities we get shouted at and told to stand in the corner.

I can understand their response. Petition was the wrong word... i wanted to have a poll but I didn't know how to start it in this forum as I have never done one before and thought only moderators could start polls.

There is no point posting in the future. All the best for the Blues in 2007.

Now look what you've done to a normally quite reasonable poster.

tap is a good Carlton person and is upset about Lances condition/attitude/performance .....whatever.....it's his opinion; and he's entitled to air it here among fellow Carlton supporters....let him be.

I think the comment was suggesting using a petition maybe he should have withdrawn that comment

A petition is used in the case of thing like the board room hey even coaches though even that is maybe over the top but a petition to remove as quoted from the team sounded like going to far

Tap i dont think people dissagree if you suggested like many he should be rested and if injured allowed time to recover and regain fitness most would agree. i agree he is in very poor form and i would hope that if we win or loose on Saturday if Lance fails to contribute due to injury / form / personal problems club should tell him to take 3-4 weeks off and get himself back into shape sure his best mate stevo can run the show for the next 4 weeks in his absence.

Hell write a letter to the club and say that you think Lance should be rested maybe thats the diplomatic way of achiving the result you want but a petition just hits the wrong nerve.

Imagine if you where at work had a few bad days and people in your work all submitted a petition to sack you or omitt you from your job

I believe you have the right intentions just the wrong approach

surely if you start a thread calling for a petition to remove a player, you should expect a passionate response...
