Nothing to read between the lines there, anyone who saw even 10 minutes of the game can tell you what happened.
Jimmae, I read it differently to you. Coaches have to be guarded, but I think in this quote below Thompson was honest. It was an easy day in the office for Thompson, and it was so easy that he can basically called Carlton soft.
re - thompson's quote -
Thompson said,
"They didn't play exceptionally well at all, so I thought it was quite easy carrying the ball through the midfield tonight which made it easy for the forwards," he said.
Translated this means -
They didn't play well at all, so i thought our midfield domination was such that we could carry the ball through the midfield at will. It was sh*it easy for our forwards too. Carlton are an easy target. Other teams following us will have a ball.
In my opinion, he has no respect for this club and the players. It is plain to see. Wher is the respect that this club once had? It has evaporated.
And to justify his lack of respect in this club we will play Whitnall next
week because Pagan and Kernahan's judgement is clouded. And when we
do Sheedy can say in his pre-game meeting - "they are soft c**ks - they
can't make the tough decisions - rip them to shreds guys."
