Callum Chambers was sensational. I chatted to him for the best part of an hour right after he got drafted. I'd have to say Carlos was extremely humble the times I've chatted to him at the family days.

Had a night on the turps with Livo and Prenda. Given my company was sponsored that evening, I would have been hard to dislike as the minute I recognised them I gave their group the heads-up on our substantial bar tab! :-D

Forgot about Callum tolerating us prattling on about utter shit to him in the Victory Room after the games in the Wiz Cup.

Then again, I lost a shitload on him for the Michael Tuck, so we'll call it about even. :P

And with his missus there too.

I get the feeling she was trying to pull him away.

I remember during that month, DannyBoy, while pissed, proclaimed that Teaguey would be lucky to be on our list in 2 years time.

We all laughed at him then.

I reckon my ratio of "He who laughs last" comments was fairly decent during season 05.

With the exception of "Chris Bryan will be the greatest ruckman this clubs had since Mike Fitzpatrick". There was a decent strike rate.

Like that time I won back what I lost on Chambers, by backing the Roos to give us a towelling in Rd 1.

Unless you were his South Launceston coach, who was left a less than appealing parting gift on his office desk. 8)

I'm one of those who doesn't like to bother the players if you do see them out and haven't really been to functions where they are accessible.

I was at training one night in about 93 and Mil Hanna off his own initiative kicked a footy my way and we had kick to kick for a little while.

I'd also like to nominate peter dean. Never met him but it just seems impossible that he wasn't a good bloke.

I often used to see Brad Pearce propping up the bar at Velour (think he might part own the place?) in Flinders Lane on a Friday night. Looks like he's put on a pound or two since his playing days.

I'll have to go up and say hi if I ever see him in there again. Sounds like a good guy.

OI thats my line!!!!

ohh and i touched david teague!!!

seriously though of the few blokes i've met Ron De Iulio was a champ and really nice, and i was super impressed with Ryan Jackson. I can tell that guys doesn't take his oppotunity for granted and will give it his best shot and for that reason alone he has my respect.

he's going to be a "simpson" type late developer i reckon and provided he can get promoted and stay on our , i reckon he will develop in to a gem.
just needs time and support. really hope he gets promoted at the end of the year.

David Clarke was a ripper bloke too. Wish I still had that photo of me and him at the family day. After bagging the shit out of him for a year, me and PJ were pissing ourselves laughing at how we could photoshop this photo, and he couldn't understand why we found it so funny, but was happy to have a laugh with us, and have a decent chat. Always smiling, that bloke.

Big Earl was good value too. Remember having a chat with him one day about Sheffield Shield, and we both rubbished Anthony Stuart, claiming that he was complete and utter poo as a bowler (IIRC, Matty Elliott had just hit him around the G for a ton the day before), only for a week later, the bastard gets called up to the Australian team. I immediately thought of Earl when I heard of that.

I remember giving Adam White a hug during the Grand Final parade in 99. he was shattered to miss out, but still willing to give me a hug.

Karl Norman was one of the nicest, most polite people you could hope to meet - ditto Marc Murphy.

Setanta and Aisake (and the two other brothers I have met) are sensational - says loads for the family.

There are actually very few duds among the playing group.

I go the opposite this time as I remember one day when Carlton played Essendon* at Windy Hill and when I got near the gate to get in, I saw John Nicholls walking towards me with his head down concentrating very closely about the game and when he got just in front of me I said Hello John then he looked at me and when he saw that he dint know me he gave me this biggest nasty stare that made me feel so low for a minute or so and then I was hoping that Carlton would win the game and he have a bad game. (Sorry fellows I'm showing my age now.)
