I reckon Murphy is shit! :-D

Just goes to illustrate how much ive grown up and matured and have a better undersatanding on why were shit....

Lance = banana
Campo = selfishness
Denis = A relic

and to the bloke that played in the Ammos "high level therefore he has footy knowledge" and thinks Campo was a gun footballer..

Mine comes from playing AFL Nintendo..... :wink:

My dear friend Synbad .......

Campo was a class player - he got pushed more than left, let's not forget that.

Lance - should never have been made captain, not a leader. What sort of captain takes club rookies to Crown upon their arrival until all hours?

Club should bite the bullet - get Lance to 'step down' from the captaincy due to injury concerns. Something like 'I need to get myself right and focus on that 100% etc.

Oh, and stop belittling people. Got something to point out, then do it without taking pot shots at posters. These forums are for everyone to have an opinion and enjoy, let's keep it that way.

Campo's stats and record shows he was a great Carlton player. They're objective measures. And his induction into the Blues Hall of Fame in 4-5 years time will prove that.

And his final el cheapo possession type years and constant whinging and sooking and his move to Essendon* will prove what an outstanding champion he was. :roll:

I had a look at our year 2000 stats today. :shock:

Will we ever be that good again? We were the second best side behind Essendon* easily that year.

If we are a quarter as good as that this year it will be an amazing feat.

Agro, your typical subjectivity. Back up a statement with some proof. Just because he left the Blues doesn't make him any less a champion. Diesel was a Sydney champion even though he left the Swans. Now Campo isn't in Deisels' class but the point is just because someone doesn't finish off their career at the same club he started doesn't make his accomplishments any less notable.

You get judged as a great when the team is riding on your back ... nopt when you rode the teams back and when there was nothing more to ride on.. you ran away because you were ineffective,.

Can any of you please show me when we rode on Campos back???

Did we ever????
Good ordinary footballer who was lucky enough to be on a wave of a great Carlton era... nothing more... and thats why he ran... he didnt want to do any hard yards... noone to ride.. Campo scrammed!!!...
Weak as piss!!!

anyway..im still waiting for Lance to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.. cos he is a champion.. and he has a footy brain... and he is our captain.. our leader... an absolute football superstar!!!

perhaps because this has been the worst on-field period in terms of win-loss ratio in the last 50+ years???

It looks like the bad news is in already.

This is what Pagan said in the press conference.

(The Age comments)
Out-of-form captain Lance Whitnall endured another frustrating night and was kept to only 10 possessions, but Pagan said the club will continue to support its new captain as he adjusts to the role.

Pagan-
"We've got to support him. He's not going well, he knows that. He's trying as hard as he can, and we've just got to back him," he said.

So using that logic - who should we drop? Whitnall is an untouchable no matter how poorly he performs.

This is what Thompson said below. Reading between the lines, he thinks we are powder-puffs.. not real opposition. With passengers in the team - we will be put to the sword. There is no room for pavlova softness in this game - make the tough decisions NOW. Whitnall out. Hartlett in or Hampson(201cm). Let's get some bigger more athletic bodies out there.

Thompson said,
"They didn't play exceptionally well at all, so I thought it was quite easy carrying the ball through the midfield tonight which made it easy for the forwards," he said.

He also said his Cats had something to prove and we were due for a down game.

Nothing to read between the lines there, anyone who saw even 10 minutes of the game can tell you what happened.

(Pagan-

And there lies the problem.Pagan is as stubborn as a mule and has demonstrated that again and again over the last 5 years.Dropping Lance might be seen as an admission that he got the captaincy decision wrong. Not many clubs have their captain playing in the 2's by round 3.Dont expect Lance dropped anytime soon.

Pagan has been prematurely blowing his own trumpet in the press for the last 2 weeks.Apparently he has been "playing the kids".
I wonder how many "kids" will get a go this week?????

If the Carlton Football club & the coaching panel are serious about instilling "steel" into this side then no one is above being dropped for poor form.

Lance is badly out of touch & I don't know if his personal issues are the problem or if the game has passed him by or if he is just in the horrors, but whatever the reason he needs to go back to the 2's & find the footy.

The pressure of being Captain can't be helping & by leaving him in the seniors it sends the wrong message to the kids in the seniors & promotes an attiude of we're all safe no matter how bad we are playing & it must surely create a massive sense of fustration for the kids busting their asses in the Bullants who can't get a game.

I believe for the good of Lance & the morale & disipline of the club as a whole, lance needs to go back & find enough to justify his spot in the senior side, Captain or not.

I can't see Whitnall being dropped.

When the Bullants named their list this year, they assigned numbers to all but ten Carlton players who "have been nominated by Carlton as unlikely to appear with the Bullants".

Whitnall is one of those ten.
