Anyone want to take a stab at who will line up on Hawkins?

Thornton.

Carlos has Ottens; ideal match up there.
Waite will get first crack at Mooney; again pretty ideal.
That leaves Thornton on Hawkins or Nathan Ablett.

Geelong are finally starting to get a good mix for their 22, and if Ottens and Mooney can be consistent forward targets, they give Geelong the ability to go into games with one ruckman and have Ablett and Hawkins on the bench.

Still not enough pace though. Varcoe, Wojinscki and Byrnes are balanced out by Ling, Corey & Enright. Everyone else is average pace, save for Ablett jnr, who while not lightning, is quick off the mark.

Guys like Tenace & Djerkurra are going to make and break the Cats in the next season or two. Djerkurra looks like he should slot in well. I'm still wishing he slid to our third rounder.

I'd have thought we would clash if we wore it!

never thought of the clash strip...what does the Cats clash strip look like?...perhaps if theirs has more white than usual, then they could wear that and we'd wear the Navy strip.

I wonder what Fisher ate on Good Friday?

Premonition: 7th April 2007.

Carlton kicks winning score of 18.11.119 against the Cats at The Dome.

Forwards

Fevola 5
Fisher 2
Waite 2
Kennedy 1
Gibbs 1
Betts 1

Midfield

Stevens 2
Murphy 1
Ackland 1
Carrazzo 1
Lappin 1

Other possible goal scorers

Cloke
Simpson
Walker
Scotland
Whitnall
Russell
Bentick

My guess Carlton win by 30-40 points.

I don't think we wear the clash strip untill we play the Saints.

Round 6 I think?

Hey Humpy, I assume you mean our clash strips which we only gotta wear when we are deemed to clash with the opposition clubs strip and we are the away team? If so we might not have to wear them until round 6 against the Saints or round 22 against the Dees, yes?

It's a Geelong home game.

Haha, yeah, there is that, but I'd suggest, Geelongs traditional hoops with blue shorts would be less likely to be confused with a white top and white shorts.

There was a game recently where a Geelong player handballed directly to a Carlton player IIRC.

That, and given the price the club is charging for replica guernseys I thought they might want some free advertising for the away kit.

:P

Forget the clash strip. Let the Geelong captain get the first kick out of the centre and bomb it straight into our forward 50!

Home games don't have anything to do with it. It is because of clashes we have been forced to have an alternative strip. Naturally we would only have to wear the white one when we play away to a team that the AFL deems we clash with.

I am still confused though because this report suggests Fremantle, Port Adelaide, Melbourne and St Kilda, but I'm sure I read somewhere that it was only Melbourne and St Kilda. Anyway we don't play Port away this year, but we do play the other 3:

Friday 4 May V Aints
Saturday 30 June V Freo
Sunday 2 September V Melbourne

Either way we are not deemed to clash with the pussies! :P

So, what you're saying is that home games do have something to do with it then.

And if some report or other reckons we don't clash with the Cats, then they're having a larf.
