Been confirmed that it is 1946. :-D

Thanks warby, one more off the list.

Keep 'em coming.

Arthur Hodgson started in 1948......can't be '46.....my mate reckons that's Alan Streeter on the end of the right hand front row......he started in '48......CONJECTURE REIGNS!

not sure it is Hodgson though, he has the same complexion but not sure.

The Streeter one, well if you compare
http://www.blueseum.org/cfc/tiki-index. ... n+Streeter

very hard to tell.

Who do you think the player is who looks just like Chitty?

I am pretty sure that is Jack Bennett - back row 2nd from the far left next to Chooka Howell.

He played until 47 - so my guess is that this photo was taken in 46.

I'm thinking it must be 1946; because Ern Henfry became Captain in 1947 replacing Bob Chitty who played 1937-46.....and Henfry is not in the photo anyway.....I've even managed to make that sound more Irish than even I intended!............ :-D

I love that photo of Ray Garby. How much starch is in those shorts? Hit 'em with a hammer and they'll shatter

Interesting in the pic of Ray Garby.
Had a discussion about the ball nowdays being smaller, and/or skinnier.
That seems to show that it definitely is.

The last few pages of this thread would make a great article...'Dating the Past' or something like it.

But I have a bigger disgrace.

Out of all of you lot, no one has put pen to paper to write up the 1981 Grand Final. What a disgrace! Do we live off these memories or not?

**EDIT - Mr.Warby has come through with the goods and the 1981 Vid should be reviewed this week. Keep an eye out for the 1981 Game Review on the Blueseum **

I am happy to write one up from someone's copy of the DVD if that works.

If you can get it to me I'll write it up and send the DVD back?

From memory this is the game that captured me as a Blue from my evil, conniving Collingwood loving second brother, so it would be appropriate for me to flesh the game out a bit.

Or better yet, if the game was to somehow magically appear on a *COUGH* torrent *COUGH* somewhere then I could retrieve it and do a review.
