Huge test this week. Geelong will be hard to beat and will be favourites.

Until we win 2 games in a row I am not getting excited, I did last year after melbourne and look what happened.

I would love to see Carlton play attacking football against Geelong from the first bounce, not when we are down by 20 points and chasing arse like in previous weeks then Pagan takes the chains off and the boys play good free running football.

Crowd: 49-50,000 so we better all book.

I am working in Byron Bay this weekend so I will miss, but I hope we can show heart like against the tigers.

Defeating a decent team on the rebound is never easy.

If the Blues win this one it will be a huge step up.

Walker on Ablett -follow him everywhere
Chapman always murders us - a big job for Russell I think and if he cant quell him Carrazzo is next best option -once again tagger should go everywhere with him
Rucks need to be on
Mooney needs to be kept a tight rein on

After Geelong was so pathetic on the weekend I was really worried about this game. Now I am looking at it differently.

Meeting a team on the rebound is a great test and one that I am sure these New Blues will embrace.

A loss, as long as it is hard-fought, will not be too damaging but a win will really get everybody's attention - and set up a huge game agains the Scum the following week.

Putting aside the whole Whitnall thing, I cannot see any changes being made but I do want the free-running Carlton to come out from the first bounce.

Go Blues

Not quite a pre game discussion but maybe someone can help.

As I havent been to the dome before I have no idea about seating.

We are sitting in row C on level two to the left of the goals at the Lockett end. Please tell me Row C is up near the front of level 2.

i wanna see a mooney v setanta clash pre the first bounce like we did with Richo last weekend - i think that will be rivetting and we could have a pre game melee !!

no kingsley to kick 7 straight....(amazing how he only kicked well against us)

I hate Kingsley as much as anyone - he is the softest of softest soft cocks to hold down full forward in the history of the game - and for the past 5 seasons he has made our life a living hell by managing to nail 3 or 4 goals every flower time he plays us - with at least 2 or 3 of the softest free kicks I have ever seen - Luke Livingstone would still be having nightmares playing Kent "flower Kingsley.

However I predict there is no flower way Kent "flower" Kingsley will kick 7 for Geelong this week against us.

When he should have already done that in Round 1 playing for Richmond. :P

Agro it goes to show how sh!t we were eh?
It really makes a difference when players like Waite, Sentanta, Simpson, Stevens,Russell,Fisher,Bentick and others play well.

Bring in Griggs,Blackwell Hartlett for the expense of Whitnall, Wiggins
and an other player.

A huge test for the boys this week. Geelong will most likely come out with a win but i hope we can have a decent contest.

For the last few years many teams have not been too worried about facing us on the rebound. Every year one team who is expected to go alright strings together a few losses, so they can be the first team the critics right off, why not Geelong this week?

I listend to the WB v Cats game last weekend and WB had the game in their control the entire time apart from when they took their foot off in the last, even then they were not really challenged.

I think that the Blues will add to the Cats woes and we will win pretty comfortable, but what I predict is that even if we win six in a row, that most of us would be afraid to predict that we're back.

If we win this week we will have won because... (fill in the gap, Harley's out, etc).

Cracks me up that some people are suggesting dropping Wiggo to bring in Grigg. The guy hasnt even played a game in the pre-season nor for the Ants, yet we want to put him right in the middle of the action. How do you justify Grigg in the team. How many real games have you seen him effective in?

Let him earn a spot in the team first. I would think 3-5 strong games in the Ants before even being considered for promotion. First game players rarely have an impact either, so I think it's best to wait until we aren't on such a roll before we play players that will have less than 5 possessions and warm the bench for most of the night. Lets be realistic.

Oh yeah...those 'oldies' are right here right now...no doubt about that.

The 'oldies' are kids too, but are considered the oldies of the bunch of kids we've got.

So 'right here right now' (implying they've made the grade and are 20 yo or under) now join the 'oldies' that have made and stamped their names as AFL grade players for a while now.

So I reckon we have 14 kids that have proved to have the AFL gift and potential to be around for the next 5- 10 years in a Carlton jumper.

I hope that explains the table and headers steve.

I agree.

A player (kid) needs to get used to the tempo of the game against stronger bodies in the Reserves first before they even get a sniff. Then they have to earn a spot, and then that's to guarantee, because there has to be a spot to take.

Regardless if Wiggo's position is precarious at worst, he is more adept to the AFL grade than Grigg is atm........atm!

Hey Humpy, I assume you mean our clash strips which we only gotta wear when we are deemed to clash with the opposition clubs strip and we are the away team? If so we might not have to wear them until round 6 against the Saints or round 22 against the Dees, yes?
