Big game coming up this week.
Geelong will have their back against the wall all week with that display and will come out breating fire. Are our boys mentally ready for the initial onslaught and counter attack when needed?
I have a feeling this week will indicate how far we have advanced over the summer.

Not sure if mentioned, but Ablett had a 2 or 3 goal first qtr against us last yr.

Walker went to him after qtr time and he was virtually kickless for rest of the game.

Walker on Ablett = no brainer. Russell not strong enough for him (yet).

5 wins in a row for our kids.

Mentally our kids prepared to take on the world with real confidence now.

Cats will come out breathing fire; that's natural. We'll just have to throw water on them.

Waite will learn to punch from behind! Setanta will teach him this week.

B: Houlihan/ Chapman Setanta/ Ottens Thornton/N.Ablett

HB: Walker/ G Ablett Waite/ Mooney Scotland/ some pussy

Although we are always one step closer to a loss, the season is still early, and our kids have got the stamina required to see out a game.

We've got the power.

I doubt there will be any changes to the winning team.

I have BIG question marks on Lance's form and place in this current team.

I didn't like the fact that with him we were one big man down and with no KP player on the bench; a real liability atm. I would like to see Hartlett in and Lance out.

Blackwell and Bower considered to possibly replace Wiggins; but I think Wiggos last quarter against the Tigers showed his true value to our team, and may have saved him. Grunt!

Geelong have been a bogey side for 4-5 years (like all teams). It will be a true barometer of where we are at. I am confident we can cover them. There are better matchups for waite in defense with Geelong more so than Richmond.

If we look to bring in an extra tall for down back i pray its not saddington and that bower/hartlett get a crack

Would rather see Grigg in than blackwell if Wiggo is dropped

Ideally for me : OUT : Whitnall , Wiggins IN : Grigg , Bower wont happen though

yeah i can't see to many changes this week. Maybe Kennedy through injury.

I'd love Bower in the side but just can't see anybody to drop!

This could force a reshuffle of Geelong's spine.

Mooney to now play CHB . . ? That would throw a (pleasant) spanner in the works.

I expect the blues to win this game.

I'm sure someone else will bob up to play their best game ever and then never be seen again- e.g. Kingsley 9 in NAB Cup last year.

Geelong are not realy quick in my view. Enright ,Bartel etc are tough hard running mids but arnt quick. I would drop Wiggo and bring in Blackwell to bolster the midfield rotation.

The key player is Gary Ablett who destroyed us last year. He is their ownly bonified superstar which is why the Cats are overrated ( watch out for his brother though).

Should they play Russell on him. This is a tough one as Ablett is a lot stronger. Thornton is the guy I would play on him. Walker is another option. Stop Ablett and we win the game.

jordy russell is the man for the job .. to start with anyways

stanton, bateman, harvey, power, deledio .. and he can add ablett

.. go jordy ..

.. go blues ..

waite does know how to punch from behind. dont start it again please people. One situation where he tried to mark instead of punch, and all of a sudden it means waite doesnt know how to punch blah blah blah. One of the things that has been so good about him since going down back is his ability to leap from behind and spoil with his long arms and great leap. So please people, again do not expect him to be a superstar everygame and grab onto one neegative and turn into calling waite he doesnt know how to spoil, thats just ridiculous. He just couldnt get himself into the game last nite in defense but could up forward, it will vary on different weeks. Is great both as a defender and forward.

Spot on Waitey.

Waitey (the player) made a beautiful punch in the game!

Yeah! He did!!!

First quarter....right down to Pettifer who snapped it from 40 metres!!!

:o

Russell has been great but he does need to get more of the ball and really hurt his opponent going the other way, but I guess that will come with time and confidence.

I hate Kingsley as much as anyone - he is the softest of softest soft cocks to hold down full forward in the history of the game - and for the past 5 seasons he has made our life a living hell by managing to nail 3 or 4 goals every @#$%&! time he plays us - with at least 2 or 3 of the softest free kicks I have ever seen - Luke Livingstone would still be having nightmares playing Kent "@#$%&! Kingsley.

However I predict there is no @#$%&! way Kent "@#$%&!" Kingsley will kick 7 for Geelong this week against us.

When he should have already done that in Round 1 playing for Richmond. :P
