One of the things that sttod out to me tonight was the fitnes of our guys, it was noticeable in the NAB cup as well in that we ran games out strongly. It seemed to me tha the further the game went, the further we were goning to extend our lead. With better conversion we could have and should have won by 8 goals plus. Footy (finally) is fun again!!!

Go Blues

I couldn't agree more
I was always confident we could come back and win - even when we were at our worst deficit during the game

One thing I have learnt about this game in the short time I have been watching is that fitness will always play a HUGE part in the outcome. This has not always been the case in the rugby union and rugby league I also watch.......

Match fitness is always an issue this time of year and our guys have been playing at 100% for 4 weeks now.

Our midfield rotations seem to be working now too, so none of the guys are getting as buggered as they used to.

Lets hope our fitness managers can help them to maintain it for 22 (hopefully 26!!!) weeks.

Fitness helps Carlton storm over Tigers

http://news.realfooty.com.au/fitness-he ... 1-5gh.html

"The Blues' strong early-season fitness shone through in their 17-point win, after they rallied from 27 points down early in the third quarter to win 15.25 (115) to 15.8 (98) to give their fans more reason for optimism."

they did seem pretty fit and i agree that if the game did go much longer they would have held their own. A 6 day break and the dome will be a bigger test.

Agreed that the guys have been out there putting in 350% each week, but the other teams have been having praccie matches as well. Doesn't that go toward match practice?

What disappointed me was that the crash happened so early. It was a sort-of non-disappointment as well, coz the second quarter was the one they let go of .. which is better than the third or fourth, coz you have that much longer to claw back.

Bring on the Bellarine Pussies, I say! We have a Geelong supporter at work (which is unusual in Sydney) and I told her to be afraid .. be very afraid ..
