Campo has been an absolute stalwart and is worth ~ $300k.

Fevola has recieved $500k offers from Collingwood and Hawthorn.

He should sign on for approx $400k, but he is really worth $350k.

Whitnall, is a dicey one, but I'd like him on the list than not on the list. I'll try to keep him for $200-$250k

The abovementioned players are the big three that are going out of contract at the end of this year.

The above three are not the "big three" that are coming out of contract at the end of this year.

THE big three are Fevola, Waite and Walker (Waite and Walker are both coming off 2 year deals if I'm not mistaken).

As for Lance and Campo - if there are clubs out there willing to offer us a first or second round draft pick - well I say, let's do the deal right now!!! Those two will be lucky to be offered much more than base salary from other clubs.

I'd offer either Adelaide Club Camporeale, and take whatever they offer. Maybe someone like Maric or Chris Knights (crows) aren't settling in well? maybe they want a full-tilt at finals? maybe they'll look at Campo?

Hopefully one of those teams will pay Campo 200k ... or 400k plus to snag him...

Synbad everyone likes it when you break club news, the same as other posters on the site do. It is great to share information with other Carlton fans, it makes us all feel more connected to the club. It is the vindictiveness that you go after some players and those who disagree with you that is the problem.

Also when I was involved in the club during the dying days of the Elliot regime and the initial stages of Collos reign I was told all sorts of stuff by a lot of people with vested interests, to counter this I had to employ my 'bullshit' detector. And I still got caught out on occassion. Just because someone tells you something is 'true' does not mean that it is, more often than not it is half correct. In the end I found the whole thing tiresome.

For instance last year you were convinced that the club was going to trade heavily and named names, in the end it did not happen, even Whits talks with St Kilda merely consisted of a chat over coffee. When it comes to the draft no-one really knows what will happen, things change on a hourly basis. All I know is with trade week, very few players are 'safe' if an attractive deal is offered for them. Before trade week everything is pure speculation even by those activly involved in the process.

Nice story Mark...

Can i borrow your bullshit detector???Im a gullable , naive fool.. with questionable sources.
I was also born yesterday ...plus im dumb!.. i cant think...and im sitting here waiting to be told what to think....

Whitnalls chats with StKilda did consist of a chat over coffee.. cos StKilda didnt want him.(Either did anyone else)

Undeniably, he was not a wanted man at Carlton.
Thats why he did the hard yards pre season ...
Lances barometer is his weight. If he is over 100 kgs .. he is as useless as tits on a bull.. if he is under 100 kgs he plays like he did in the Wizard cup...(The more under he gets the better he is... the more over he is the worse he is.. )

so on that how do you think Lance has looked after himself since the Wizzer Cup???

Yes we dont know what will happen come trade time. All we can know is INTENT!!!!. Denis intends to do a few things...Keeping Lance and Campo around the club on big contracts aint two of them...

Well Wayne Carey went for a #2 pick when he left the Kangaroos for the Crows, and that's whilst being out of football for a year.

A late round 1 pick or early round 2 pick & a peripheral player is what I will be demanding, at the least.

He will bring experience, skill, pace, goal kicking ability and his tackling count has improved out of site over the past couple of years.

We really shouldn't be talking him down, because at the same token, Dennis may demand an early round 1 pick for him.

How can you compare Carey with Campo? They're not in the same league.

You are quite right in that Campo and Whits will not be on the money next year that they are now. Nobody disagrees with that. And I would be dissappointed if they left because they refused to accept lower contracts. If they want to hold out or demand unrealistic terms, then I would be quiet happy to say "Bye"

The contracts though are not Dennis's area, contracts are left to the football manager and CEO with input from the Football subcommittee and ultimatly the board. Dennis's input is largely restricted to wheter or not they are required players.

If Dennis's decides they are not required players then they will be offered up for trade or delisted. Last year with Whits, it was a mutual decision for Lance to have a chat with other clubs and as I said it never went beyond a coffee, and Lance showed his committment by doing the extra work over summer, after struggling with injuries the previous three years.

I know there are rumours around the club, footy clubs run on them I think. The rumour regarding Campo going back to Adelaide has been going for at least 5 years, hell even Sticks was rumoured to be going back when Adelaide first joined and the rumour about Whits being traded is at least 3 years old. In the end they maybe selfulfilling, maybe not.

But until either of those players are either traded or retire I will cheer them on , applaud thier good play and groan when they stuff up, as I do for every other player who pulls on the jumper.

I agree, Campo is a better player at the same age.
