At least those responses provide some background as to how it evolved, doesn't mean that I agree with it nowadays though.

Only positives for me were Fevola's bag of 5, Houlihan's precision kicking and Waites game.

BBB - it's fine and well to be expected to do what you're paid to do as per your 'job description', but as part of this is FEEDBACK in the form of positive re-inforcement regardless of age. I referring to the bit in my post about Kouta battling hard - why can't this be a positive?

It shows Leadership, and leadership needs to be demonstrated to the aspiring young leaders at the club so they may learn - if that ain't a positive I don't know what is!!!!!

I'm not surprised that it'd be TheSheik that starts complaining about a positives thread. Who's forum started "Give Em The Axe" out of interest?

I read it once the other week, before the Carlton/Hawthorn game. Amazingly pessimistic supporters, I'm surprised teknodeejay doesn't just post there exclusively let's just put it that way

I think that technically because it's in Geelong, it's considered "regional", ie: not in the Metro area.

Well if anyone can explain to me how we are going to get some quality on our list if we finish an "Honourable Tenth" for the next 5 years with a bunch of honest (but manifestly not up to finals footballers) on our list please let me know.

Really, I want to know. Seriously I do want to know, if you are to embarrased to let me know in this forum - you can always PM me and I will pass it on to the club.

Do you actually think that the players read the online tripe that most of us serve up ?? Do you actually believe that they would read it and then think gee, that's really nice, I might try a bit harder next week now ??

Sorry, I fail to see how full-time professional (i.e. they are paid extremely well)footballers who train 3-4 times a week and have specific sessions dedicated to improving skills should be lauded with praise because they actually did something correctly in a game. If they were to do something above and beyond the ordinary then sure, go nuts about it. But blowing a gasket because a player tried hard or hit his team-mate on the chest with a pass seems rather farcical to me.

A 17yo with an official warning (one of many online misdemeanors I'd say) who has little or no grasp on reality and an obvious lack of education too.

"Who's" forum was that again? And what did you read last week? There are a lot of very angry & upset people on this forum at the moment so I find it hard for you to suggest that being disappointed and 'pessimistic' is exclusively restricted to just one Blues site at present.

Captain Obvious Disciple believes that if you are running short on them Surrey Blue has a big pile of them around at his house - they are hiding just under the chequebook and the guide to the Bendigo Region.

How the hell did this turn into a "our forum is better than your forum" thread?

The positive is that the pies are worse than us and that the AFL is meeting today re Priority Picks, so they'll probably take them out of the system.

just when we need them.

It's not at all Deano, I just questioned why people seem to go into raptures over things that I would consider standard. Frank & Molsey explained the history of these weekly threads and I can see why it happens now. At no stage have I suggested one forum is better than another, in fact I have been very careful not to come across that way.

However, two of your more 'intellectual' members have taken a different tack on this part of the discussion and brought up CSC as part of their defence. I can't see why another forum has anything to do with the question that was asked especially as a decent reason had already been provided to me.

But it is the internet Dean, you never know what type of people you are going to attract !!

positives.

We won the second quarter easily when we played some good football.

6 goals 5 points to 4 goals 2 and if we had our kicking boots on it could have been alot better.

We played one good quarter of football - and that gives me hope that all is not lost becuase we when play well we are as good as any team going around. But we need to do it for 4 quarters like we where doing in the Wizzer Cup.

negatives

we drop our bundle for to easily IMO and are in desperate need of a "madman" that will clean up people in the course of play.

Agree Prez...
We don't need a madman...we need an Enforcer! Someone who stands up...chest out (not an idiot who gets reported)...ah! David Rhys Jones...maybe who could make a one match come back....

Back to positives....
has anyone noticed Betts....I mean not the crap on telly...at the ground.
The guys tackled, runs, tackles, runs...and when the ball is inevitable flowing from our forward line to theirs though unconstested players...he's still runnning , grabbing etc..until the half back (their forward line). Gotta love the ferociousness

I think he's getting "pine time" because he's so knackered...BUT I LOVE IT!
More match fitness, more preseason strength....this is not a pocket, crumbing player - just waiting for the snap!..... I've been saying it since the start of the season..."Kick it to Betts"
