Bond = ex-Carlton player (although not anywhere near the status Ratten & SOS have). Could be worth watching....

Stephen Silvagni - would have had 2 years at Aints by the time 09 comes around and a year or two at the dogs.

And hopefully a year at the Dale Carnegie School of Public Speaking.

True Agro, I know what you mean - I think there are some things that people are just not made out for, and in this case SOS & special comments on TV don't go - but his speech to the boys at 3/4 time in the 99 Prelim is stuff of legend - it worked with the players back then....

Maybe he'll learn a thing or two from Rossy Lyon

Ive always believed that Brett Ratten is going to be the next Carlton coach.

I also believe that he will be a very successful coach at Carlton.

:-D Agree Pagan or Ratten if Pagan moves on. You can see the effect that Ratten is already having on the midfield (particularly Bentick and Stevens) this year.

The resurgence is on the way!!!! :-D :-D

Ratten deserves a lot of credit, but I'm not sure that he's responsible for the form of these 2 players.

Stevo had groin problems and was not in good nick last year. He's turned that around, and I'd imagine he'd be happy as Larry that he has Murphy back to assist him.

Bentick carried an injured shoulder last year despite playing until Rd 20, and underwent surgery to rectify the problem.

Both were good chances to improve dramatically just by regaining peak fitness.

That's a noble pursuit, but take it from me...being an ignored outcast is far better.

Pretty unlikely when he's the forwards coach.

2008 - In Voss Out Libba (assistants).

2009 - in Voss Out Pagan (Coach).

Other than mandatory changes, resignations or poaching I wouldn't envisage the need for many other changes.

More low draft picks will help of course.

i like the ideas of Voss, Ratten, and Chris Bond...all very good candidates, i still think Pagan's the top candidate, and i'd like to see Silvagni at the club some time soon, the fallout with John Elliot has seen him not come back since.

I think Richard Pratt's theory on business is to hire the best person for the job regardless of if there available or not. My choice would be John Worsfold in that case.
