great to see little blackers play well too. sounds like he got a bit of tit.

morrell, clarke, bowyer, sporn, longmuir, livo and russell should be pressing for a game next week.

drop scotland, mcgrath, delcua, johnson.

hopefully carrots will be back too.

glad to see some good news for a change

Not related to this thread, but 3AW reckon Rivers will be suspended for an incident involving Franklin

Sam Newman thinks Rivers will get 1-2 weeks.

Paul Johnson also on report.

So that'd be...

Neitz and Miller out.
Rivers and Johnson are 50/50 at this stage.
Bruce should come back in.

Never a better time to play them.
Must win.

Possible Ins: Longmuir, Clarke, Norman, Morrell, Livo, Bryan, Bowyer, Bannister

Not saying that all of these guys should be ins, but they had pretty good games...Was voted BOG, kicked 4...

I'd like to see David Clarke get a go...you have to reward consistent effort even if he's not the greatest player going around...he seems to be among the best players in the VFL every week so it seems like he deserves a chance..besides, is he REALLY that much worse than some of what he have in the side at the moment?

Longmuir kicked 4 goals and had about 18 touches and took a few marks which wouldn't have hurt his chances..

Hopefully Livo will be back next week..

Digby should come in and play FORWARD like he does in the VFL and because he actually is a FORWARD..maybe take Deluca's spot?

Bowyer would be a chance, sounds like he played well again after getting a heap of it last week..

Ideally Carrazzo will be back too although obviously he's out through injury and not poor form..

I think given our problems in the ruck Bryan or Setanta will have to come in. Either De Luca or Prendergast to be given a spell. I think it will be De Luca personally. We need more accountability and defensive pressure, I think we could bring Clarke in to try a run with role and put some physical pressure on or possibly a return for Bannister as he is an excellent runner but I doubt his physical presence on the man.

One thing both Bowyer and Clarke have been doing for the Bullants this season is physically imposing themselves on the game and laying a few solid tackles and bumps on players. I know they'll be people saying "oh his disposal is crap" etc but we're crap anyway and without accountability so we might as well play someone who'll be aggressive and still have the same disposal issues that we'd normally have. I'd personally play Clarke or Bowyer off the back flank and switch them into the midfield for spells.

My preference of these 2 would be Clarke purely based on his pace over Bowyer.

Saw it. Right fist landed flush on Ben Dixon's eye. Pretty damning footage. At least 1 or 2 weeks I'd say.

Actually Sydney we've changed the game plan at the Blues - we're now no longer bombing it long, we're just bombing it. :(

Given Dennis' comments that we lack midfielders in the seniors I would think that would be where Dennis would like some fresh talent injected. Given the Dees have Jeff White who plays more like a running ruck rover I think Prender will probably keep his spot and run with him but DeLuca would probably need a spell in the ressies to get his form back. Livo to take his place.

Livo to come back in to settle the back line and allow Lance to play up forward. IMO Brett Johnson may also find himself running around in the Bullants. Probably replaced by Sporn if he has had a good game because he can play half back flank and that allows us to release Houla or Lappin to the wing. If Blackwel was a bit more built up then I would love to see him given a taste. However another pre-season and then he should get his chance.

If Clarke is to come back into the side perhaps Davies will make way for him.

the half i listened shouldn't get Bryan or setanta a game next week

I'd give livo a run, Morell for Archie, and possibly spornie although he would have to do better than his possie count...on that note clarke or bowyer do deserve a run

See what do you do with someone like Sporn?

When he goes back to the VFL he plays in the midfield, doesn't have to worry about an opponent as much, plays with more freedom, gets close to 20 touches etc.

However, he won't get the same role in the ones, he'll just go back onto a back flank and struggle to get a kick again and the cycle continues...the point is that he will play two vastly different roles between the seniors and the VFL...he's never going to get a game in the midfield in the seniors so what do you do with him?

I like Sporn but in the seniors he just doesn't get enough of the footy...it's a problem because he can actually use it....whereas then you have someone like Johnson who has no trouble getting the ball but can't use it!

I think we need to give him some freedom, play him on the ball so he doesn't have to worry as much about his opponent. In the first 5 games of 2004 he averaged around 15 possessions and at the same time did a good job on Hird. It looks like he doesnt want to be proactive; too scared of his opponent doing something

Were crap defensively cos alot of our blokes dont man up.. which means players like Sporn and Wiggo are chasing at and jumping at shadows...
Shell shocked from players further upfield
Personally id bring in Russell this week.

Pagan says we need to rotate more players through the midfield. Most other sides rotate about 8 midfielders. We might rotate 1 and expect Kouta, Stevo & Campo to play the whole 120 mins.

Blueworld, good question.

We are going to lose against Melbourne next week anyway - so why not practise some more midfield rotations?

I wouldn't mind seeing Davies have more of a role, as he plays a tougher brand of footy than most.

Who else could be in the rotation?
