He put in all night,he may have been beaten but it's a tuff ask to keep up with a faster foward when you're a slow foward yourself.

Yeh Whitnall was one of few good players, but if Whitnall playing back you have already told the other sides you have loss.

Lance started forward last week and on many weeks and has been found to be completely ineffective when we needed him.
Lance should play well wherever he is put .
If Denis needs him back he starts back. I thought playing him on a hack like Ottens would have been good for his confidence .

So Ottens is a hack?

He was a number 2 draft pick.

I thought that was what you wanted.

I think Ottens is a fair bit better than a hack. If only one of our first round draft picks over the last ten years had his talent....

That happens sometimes that why you hedge your bets with a better spread of early picks.. thats why the priority pick is the way to go...
A hack number 2 draft pick is better than a hack father son.. who missed from 10 meters in front because he doesnt like staying back with the kids...

I think given the nature of the side at the moment Lance playing back is fine.

Our forward line with Fevola, Waite, Betts, Lappin, is ok, sure I would prefer De Luca do so much more down there, and I would bring back Digby too play there as well.

Decision time is looming with Lance, along with many others, at least he has too work hard in defense, but our problem is not our defense it is defensive across the board.

Thats true Barnesy , defence starts in our forward line goies through the midfield and out the other end....
The trouble with Lance is he played an average game and people start up a thread.. "Lance played ok"
Says it all with Lance....

Lance always gives his best my fear is that his time at Carlton is nearly over because of that idiot coach we have at the moment.
Lance is a forward and needs to be played forward using him to fill holes in the defence is just plain bloody stupid. If he needs bigger bodies in defence play Morrell or norman until Livo gets back on the park don't keep sacrificing Lance

lance too walker out twice in 20 min which let ablett through for two easy goals.

i'd be livid if i was walks.

and that missed shot 20 out right in front was a joke.

other than that he was reasonable.

Lance has done well the past 2 games its not his fault that he has 10 meters on his opponent and the ball gets dropped at his feet or over his head. Lance needs the ball out in front cause his ground level skills aint the best.

The club would have to take offers this year, if we could get a first round pick i would probably trade him.
