Just wanted to add a comment about Nick Stevens. Absolutely pure class, the last few weeks he has shown how good a player he really is, just the poise, composure, ball-winning ability in tough situations, smarts and genuine class have all played a huge role in the past two weeks. He has really stood up when it has mattered most. He just adds so much class to the midfield that it's just ridiculous to think that people actually wanted to trade him! He is a gun footballer and I am expecting a big season from him.

Good game.

Good team effort and while Stevo was clearly BOG I thought both Fisher and Thornton popped up with crucial things at crucial times.

And I coined a new phrase/saying:

"When the going gets tough, the Murph gets going".

Seems pretty appropriate huh? He just seems everywhere in times where the game is on the line. That big bear tackle on Brown in the last quarter was just awesome!

In our darkest of dark years we have still jagged 2 pre season cups- a pretty good effort.

:-D :-D :-D :-D da da da da daahhhhhh!!

we did ok, we did more than ok!!!

I think special mention for Tbird in the last quarter, he was everywhere!
Fish deserves an honorable mention, not only 3 goals ( one directly in front that he nailed) but a supergoal!
awww stevens.. why isn't the guy captain?!?!?!?!

That was also the first match in over two years that the crowd was so fantastically pro Carlton. :-D :-D

Just a question about this new "hands in the back" fiasco.

Why is it not ok to place a hand on the other player's back in a marking contest but it's okay to completely pole-axe him from behind, using anything but the hands?

And why is it not ok for a fullback to place hands on a full forward's back, but the forward can shove the defender out of the contest completely and take the mark without penalty?

And why is it a high tackle if the player with the ball ducks his head and makes no effort to raise it a gain. How else are you expected to tackle him?

I get the feeling too many games are going to be ruined by this business, and it's just not good enough.

i agree ponkstar - i spat it during that game and some of the high tackle calls - if you get the ball just duck your head and run - if someone goes neat you - you will get the free - its a joke

Just enormously happy for the guys.

Particularly happy for Jarrad and Eddie, both of whom narrowly missed selection in the 2005 pre-season grand final.

But now the battle has only just begun... with our new improved defence I think 2007 should see an improved Blues performance.

Nice photo's Pauly!

Great win by the boys it was almost a 4 quarter effort, and we pretty much blew them away in the third and fourth.

Votes

3 - Stevo
