I’m not trying to put a damper on the flag issue, in fact I think it’s a very good idea and the whole thread by you guys is hilarious but before you go to all the trouble and expence make sure you will be allowed to enter into the ground with it also the size may be an issue.

The Orange society of Victoria might get upset as well so be careful, it will be tremendous if you will get away with it.

Ridiculous. The Essendon* cheer squad has enormous Aboriginal Flags. The Sydney cheers squad has a large Irish one occasionally.

Who cares, just take it in, and wrap yoru carlton flag around it if you must.

A flag is a flag. It's not offensive or anything, and anyone that suggests it is is a w@nker. if they do - Go and find something else to do or learn to become thicker skinned.

Shattered.

Couldn't get a decent sized flag.

They'd sold out at the Irish Shop in MC.

I wouldn't be too shattered mate... three words - St Patricks Day - guessing that's why they would have been sold out of large flags.

You should still be determined to get one though, from what I watched last night, Setanta will be getting a bit of game time this year...

He sure has come a LONG way since I watched him kick his first goal against Richmond at the MCG. That day we got absolutely slaughtered by the Tigers and everything Nathan Brown did turned to gold.

Would be great to extract revenge on them come Round 1 - April Fools Day!

Wouldn't have been Denis that got angry - would have been "Collo" and his merry band of wowser police at TelstraDome:

No commercially prepared food  - all food is commercially prepared - do they expect us to bake loaves of bread, slaugher and butcher pigs, milk cows to make cheese and grow tomatoes at home to make a simple Ham, Cheese & Tomato Sandwhich.

 - Bottles of Water $4.00

Collo sure learnt a few lessons from the recently departed "Dark Lord" who must have been turning cartwheels in his new abode - after last Saturday night.

Blues' Setanta wins flag — and an Irish one.
Quote:
And it's a toss-up who got the biggest thrill from it, O'hAilpin himself or the man who gave it to him, Blues fan Rohan Mahoney. The 24-year-old Melbourne University international student assistant is an unabashed O'hAilpin fan and took the Irish flag with him to Telstra Dome on Saturday (after attending a St Patrick's Day function) in the hope that not only would the Blues win the premiership but he might present it to his hero as he walked through the race after the match. Mahoney, though, did much better than that because when a Blues official spotted him in the crowd minutes after the final siren he beckoned Mahoney to throw the flag to him, promising to pass it to the Irishman at the presentation ceremony. "To see Setanta run the lap of honour holding my flag was surreal," Mahoney said yesterday. "What he has achieved with Carlton in such a short time is fantastic. We all love him." Mahoney, who has close Blues connections of his own — his mother Lynne is a niece of Blues champ Jack Wrout — isn't at all concerned that he hasn't seen the flag since. "Who cares, Setanta can keep it if he wants," he said. The Irishman, by the way, had double reason for celebration at the weekend — yesterday was his 24th birthday.

I have got the kids trained now - they know not to even ask me for money inside any ground to buy the overpriced crap at Telstra or MCG.

We bring it all from home - in brown paper bags - and let them try to stop my daughter bringing in her bottle of water from home.

$4.00 for a bottle of water that costs these bastards 50 cents.

Tropi Sas!!!!!!

I got that mean about all the inflated prices at the footy I don’t even buy the footy record anymore as I only used to buy it just to mark the Carlton Players Goals & Behinds so now I print my own list instead (*edited*).
