Anyone have any details on why he pulled out? A serious injury? Will he play this week?

Can't find anything on this....

My mail has it that he will be rested....barring hyper baric treatment proving beyond a doubt.

That would be best - have him ready for Round 1 - whilst it would be great to have him out there on Saturday night, it gives Hartlett an opportunity to make his mark and compete for the CHF position.

A blessing in disguise it may turn out for Hartlett.

..liked what i saw of Hartlett, a good contested mark and also willing to crash the pack a'la Kennedy.. ..i still think Kennedy will become the better option for CHF, but now it seems we've got a good crop of ready players itchin' for a run in the forward line, which means we can rotate thru there as well and keep them fresh as well as making the opposition juggle their backlines around us.. ..now, if only our other forwards put in hours of solid goal kicking practice and convert even half as well as big fev and we'll be kicking 20goals a game in short order.. ..goal conversion is still our nemesis..

How good is it to have competition for places, 12 months ago we would be spewing if a KPP went down. Now it's an opportunity.

We are sooooooo nearly all the way back!!!!!!

totally agree... we need other blokes kicking multiple goals. Fev as good as he is needs help ... he isnt gonna kick 8 every week.

Put it this way if Fev kicks between 65-85 and we have players like Kennedy, Hartlett and Betts kick between 20-30 goals each then I would be very confident in us scraping into the final 8 that is as long as we dont have any major injuries and our backline holds up well.
Also what we need is our midfielders kicking a few goals abit like what Stevo, Carrazzo and Murphy have been doing over the nab cup. Simmo and Scotland need to also drills the goals from 40- 50 metres out.

Did anyone else noticed Eddie holding the ball the same way Fev does when he kicked that goal from a free in the fourth quarter?

Maybe they should all be using the Fev method...will be interesting to see if it catches on over time in other clubs when players kick for goal.

I've tried Fev's method myself and it seems to work well enough. I think it'll catch on when Carlton starts winning games.
