based on 2007, would you rather win against Brisbane this Saturday to take the NAB Cup, or would you rather the 4 points against Brisbane for our home and away game later in the year?

I don't think they'll be paying out the same person Sir Richard called "Coach for Life" any time soon ..

Exactly, and at the end of the year there are only a maximum of two teams that can be considered winners.

They are:

the winners of the AFL premiership and

the winners of the pre-season competition.

People shouldn't look backwards - we should only look at the present.
You can never have a season like 2005 or 1982 or 1970 again as it was different personnel - different circumstances.

NAB Cup please, in 20 years time it will still be counted in the history books. A single home and away win doesn't count for much in the long term history of the game. Add to that the money and membership surge and we are on our way to winning more games as a result anyway.

I was happy that we secured four points round 1 last year, but was unhappy we didn't secure four points round 1 the year before, but was happy that we won the Wizard Cup that year.

The end result was a wooden spoon both years, so quite frankly I don't give a @#$%&! one way or the other.

But Melbourne were fair dinkum Verbs, West Coast weren't. If sides were taking this comp serious we wouldn't have won it in 05' and we wouldn't be playing this week.

But we still would've ended up last, so getting those four points last year made no difference.

definitely the 4 points, the best teams couldn't care less about the nab cup and that's how we should be in a couple of years when our finances are back on track.

Yes, that's right..."in a couple of years...". 8)

If you think West Coast didn't take the Wizzie GF seriously in 05, you're kidding yourself.

Win the NAB Cup = money + members. Winning 4pts later in the year may gain us win 5 or 6 for they year. We need all the money we can get!!

PS: Silverware is Silverware, that is what makes a club successfull. We should be trying to win the NAB Cup ever year IMO.

There's a premiership & premiership medallions up for grabs, I give a stuff if it's only the pre-season, this week it's about WINNING and nothing ELSE. We've played the practise matches now.

Our "young" side is going to play in finals footy atmosphere & pressure, you cannot manufacture that during the 22 rounds normally.

GO BLUES ... another piece of silverware!
