I read that Essendon* want Evans tribute to be at the G in order to

I have a real problem coming to terms with this. Wasn't Evans supposed to be Mr Telstra Dome? He was one of the people that dreamt it up wasn't he? So why wouldn't you have it at the telstra dome?

If they do it at the MCG they can hope to get more people to the game and so boost the catering take for Spotless.

The club must realise that there is a lot of bitterness towards Evans amongst the supporters... and as such would be crazy to agree to it as any kind of protest will make us look bad unfortunately... although I like the idea of the silent, turned back, protest.

The best thing would be for the club to say thanks but no thanks... that would avoid any embarassment on the day, and send the AFL a message that we certainly don't think he was the fantastic administrator they'd have us believe!

My first reaction was "Why politely?" but then I thought of the media reaction to an impolite refusal .. which we don't need ... but how can you refuse, politely or otherwise, and get positive spin?
