Hello all.

I've just had a look at the TV programming for next week and there's no live telecast of the final into the ACT / NSW.

Anyone who thinks this is a bit average may wish to visit this link:

http://add.yahoo.com/fast/help/au/tv/cgi_feedback

Anyone else, even you lucky Victorian blue boys who can assist, we here in the North would love your support!

Cheers

Rich

UPDATE - 15 March 2007

I found out this arvo that the game will be live on Foxtel Main Event Channel. For some reason, it wasn't added to the foxtel Internet site.

great work rich.

here's the feedback i left

I think it is appalling that Ch 7 is not showing the NAB Cup GRAND FINAL live or atleast on a reasonable delay on saturday night.

Ch 7 have been pumping up about how the AFL was away from the so called "home of football" for too long but shows a complete and utter dissrespect to NSW and ACT based AFL supporters on a continual basis.

Unprecedented levels of coverage.

UNPRECEDENTED.

This is an absolute disgrace.

It's only going to get worse.

This rights deal and the inevitable decline of the Swans will destroy the game in Sydney.

Mark my words.

Im so flowering angry about this.

Near Live coverage my ass!!

Here is a copy of my response:
Quote:
I am writing to voice my disgust with
Channel 7s pathetic coverage of the
NAB Cup. Supposedly the recently
signed TV rights deal between Ch7,
Ch10 and Foxtel was going to give
unprecedented live coverage on FTA
television. To this point there has
been maybe one game which was shown
live in the ACT. The rest have been
telecast on ridiculosly long delays.

This weekend sees the grand final of
the NAB Cup and yet again CH7 is
unwilling to come to the party,
deciding to telecast the game at
11.30pm. If this is "near live" then I
would hate to see what a delayed
telecast would be!

Come on Ch7, pull your finger out and
do the right thing. Screen this game
live or at the least on a more
reasonable delay. Im sick of watching
rubbish repeats of movies that no one
cares about whilst waiting for a near
live coverage of AFL footy!!

I wish to voice my displeasure at the scheduling of the NAB Cup Grand Final between Carlton and Brisbane.

The much-lauded rights deal for the AFL is alleged to bring 'near-live' coverage of the game to each state - so far, NSW has had an 11:30pm start AT THE EARLIEST each week of the NAB Cup. If this does not improve during the season proper, there will be many fans who will be less than chuffed.

For 'unprecented coverage', this all looks awfully familiar...

Regards,
Annoyed AFL fan in Sydney

Try TVU or Sopcast - you'll need to download these programs onto your computer - but I have it on good authority that a few good samaritans will be streaming some coverage of games throughout the season (and hopefully NAB Cup Final) via TVU.

http://www.tvunetworks.com/

Hope this turns out to be right and brings you some luck. In the meantime I'll check a couple of my sources to see if someone does intend to stream the NAB Cup final.

ph: 02 8777 7777.

The receptionist I got to talk to up at channel 7 in Sydney "promised" to pass on the feedback I provided.

Another idea - contact channel 9! Given all the bad coverage channel 7 is getting of late regarding today tonight, I'm sure they won't mind more stuff that is being seen as rather negative.

Try this page:

We've never had any decent coverage of the AFL, let alone the pre-season. The only time I remember the coverage being at a decent time was during 2005's Who-cares ..

Unprecedented coverage .. unprecedentedly crap, and there is only one way for this to go during the real deal ... hopefully, only one.

Pathetic.

Stuff them all.

I've emailed Foxtel, and cancelling my 3 Foxtel sets on Monday morning if there is no improvement with the NAB GRAND FINAL this Saturday.

In addition I will be cancelling my home's and business' Telstra connections because of their association with Foxtel; stuff em.

Stuff em, stuff the AFL, stuff the new TV rights. I'm not conned one bit!

I'll go to the Royal when the Blues are on live.

I don't like being ripped off. We're still in the dark ages in NSW with 7, 9, 10 and Poxtel.

Give the footy to the ABC.

Foxtel would happily show every game live if they were given the chance.

With the ridiculous anti-siphoning laws, FTA have first dibs, giving them the ability to hold the rights yet withhold the telecast.

FTA channels = fascists of the highest order

Interestingly, the above is scheduled for Brisbane on Saturday night too. I wonder, given Brisbane are playing, if it will be altered? I was counting on it being shown live because Brisbane are participating. Surely they won't delay it until 11.30pm for Brisbane viewers? If they do, Channel Seven have no clue what-so-ever.

You would think that Foxtel should be allowed to show it live on the Main Event channel for free, like they are going to do on Friday nights.

May be worth just checking aroung game time if it is on that channel.

Last Saturday night I noticed that the Car v Kang game was shown on Main Event as well as Fox Sports 1. The adverts were different during the breaks, but apart from that no difference except no Fox Sports 1 logo on the screen.
