Quick, someone register ronevans.com.au and get Carlton to flog it off to Essendon* for a few hundred grand.

I really hope we don't agree to this. Surely all concerned realise the reaction Carlton fans may give.

As tempting as it might be, it wouldn't create a great impression to have thousands of our supporters booing during whatever ceremony they decide on.

Dedicating a Carlton home game to the memory of the man who endeavoured to kill us off?

I dont think that making an issue of the fact that Carlton was so badly treated by Ron Evans during the time of Carlton's draft penalty will work for us.

The severity of the penalty and the inequitous treatment of Carlton compared to Essendon* still burns - as I am sure it does for many other Carlton supporters.

But looking at the very favourable media picture painted of the late Mr Evans, it is hard to see people having much sympathy for us and it is most likely that they will not understand our point of view - irrespective of how correct it might be.

Despite the fact that many people now realise that our draft penalties were more severe than they should have been, if we were to bring up this issue, the emotions surrounding the recently deceased Ron Evans, his positive football legacy (except to us) and the very favourable media treatment of him - would probably undo some of the positive news at Carlton over the past few months.

Booing during the Ron Evans memorial game would do wonders to re kindle the perception of Carlton's arrogance and would sharpen up the hatred that others have of us - especially if we had won our previous matches.

This looks like the only viable option - if we stupidly agree to this ridiculous, galling and ironic tribute.

If this goes ahead then it will be one of the most firey matches between the Blues and the Bombers in quite some time.....

I wouldnt boo Ron Evans in respect for his family......but I think the Essendon* Football club need to get a reality check if they want to promote a Carl vs Essendon* game as some sort of tribute match knowing how a lot of Blues fans feel about Evans treatment of our club...

It would be one thing for them to push it for a Bummers home match, but to suggest that we give one our home matches for it......

"Boo-ing" isn't the right way to go about it. But we can do a silent protest that has occurred in other sporting codes (soccer in England).

If it goes ahead, we can launch a campaign to get every Carlton supporter to TURN THEIR BACK ON THE GROUND when the Evans tribute is on.

No shouting, no noise. Just 35-40,000 Bluebaggers with their backs to the playing field. Would be powerfully symbolic.

Sheffield Wednesday got their manager sacked with a similar protest years ago - looks very powerful when done well.

Perhaps Essendon* can remember and Carlton can celebrate getting rid of Evans and putting a Carlton Legend in his place???
