Don't they have TV where they're partying?

Seven said they'd take it, but it depends where you are in Aus .. I reckon it will be live in Vic but on delay elsewhere ..

then it is slightly different

Personally, I am not confident, but if we play like we did last night, the Who Cares is ours again .. and then we have to lift in H&A as well ...

Big call, Synbad, but I'd have to admit that 8LW didn't do too well last night

And I thought I heard the dolts on MMM saying that he's enjoying his footy like at no other time in his career .. I could be wrong, but they were more wrong more often last night

Problem is: Will Lance have the energy to lift the damn thing???

After running around for five mintues a quarter and resting on the bench between times, he might not be able to climb the steps on the podium...

(Might require a captain's effort...)

Nick Stevens hasn't got any previously unknown brothers getting married this weekend has he?

i hope the hit on Adcock took a bit out of him, and i hope Brown plays, i want to play Brisbane at as close to full strength as possible..because i know we can beat the Best Lions team on offer...if we do that THEN we can claim that we're emerging rapidly...beating Essendon*, Kangaroos and a 75% full strength Hawthorn aren't exactly huge scalps..nor is Brisbane mind you, but at Full Strength, with guys like Power, Brown, Lappin, Black, etc their team is better on paper.

They haven't got TV where I'll be partying.

Santana for Brown. I agree that his game on Hall was his making. Santana is a huge man and fast. And he won't take a backward step. I think he has turned into a real find at last and if the ball goes to ground he has the pace to run away from Brown, who will be underdone. Give Bradshaw to Waite because Bradshaw likes to lead long and hard and Waite can go with him and if the ball goes to ground (see above Santana and Brown).

Setanta on Brown.

Who is going to stop Power and Black? I'd give Russell the job on Black, and Walker the job on Power.

Rischitelli and Sherman?

Tis' going to be a very hard game this one, i dont think we will win, because brisbane have too many good players over the ground.

If we can stop Brown, Rischitelli, Sherman, Power and Black, we're in for a win :)

My question is, can we do it? and if so, how?

I think the Lions will be more obsessed with stopping our players than us stopping theirs.

Setanta on Brown.

This has to happen.

Last night I saw a guy who looked like he belonged out there. He looked like a footballers footballer; a defenders defender. His skills has improved significantly. He sticks his head over the ball and barges through. He's passionate, firey and bleeds for us as we all saw when he got done for a few iffy calls on Thompson.

My friends, Setanta O'hAilpin is the real deal.

Full forwards...you have been warned.

Yeah it's gone.

But the jury is still out on him.

Played alright last night and is a real work horse.

As I mentioned before, we'll see how he's going at Round 11 before I make a reassessment.

Callum Chambers carved up in the 05 Wizzer too remember.

I think your last statement is the key PJ. If brown plays at CHF, would you move Setanta away from FB to play on him?

Hmm good question, Braddles.

I'd leave Setanta at FB regardless if Brown plays at full forward or not. I suspect Bradshaw will come in and play at full forward so perhaps Setanta will take him or maybe even Merrett. Waitey could get the job on him and exploit him for pace as I reckon Brownie might take a while to shake the pre season rust off.

But, if the Lions feel that given it's his first game back, they might play him at full forward to limit the running load he'd have to do.

So many variables on this one.

Agree with everything you said here and thats the great thing. Last year it was a real concern who would play on someone like Brown. This year, doesn't matter. Setanta plays on whoever is at FF, Waite plays on whoever is at CHF.

We should play teams on our terms, not turn the side upside down depending on the opponant.

Yep.

It's no longer "if Thornton will take *KPP 1* who will take *KPP2*". We now have Setanta and Waitey who are more than capable of taking any key position forward. The best part about these two is not only are they tall, but they are athletic and play like running half back flanks.

We'll have a ripper backline once Bower develops.

Jonathon Brown is a monster of a man.

He has good hands and leads hard, but....

Jonathon Brown is no longer and never will be the player he was when playing at his lightest weight and young fresh legs at 19, 20 & 21.

Since the back to back to front flags, JB has been seriously hampered by extreme case of OP, knee, hip, neck and back injuries. For a time there it was said thathe may not have made it back; but he did.

His only standout performance since his return was the first game against The Bumbers, and boy did he cream them. Experts commentating that game suggested this is not the game he should be judged on given he was fresh and free from the week to week battle scars, but judge him on the games following. JB has not repeated that performance.

JB today has presence. a big reputation and 3 premiership medals. He will need more than that to beat Waite or Setanta.

I don't fear JB....Bring him on!!
