Watching the replay now. Damn those umps helped the Kanga's in the 3rd.

Also think big Irish got a hard time from the umps, played in front and got no help, played from behind and couldn't do it right from the umps viewpoint.

Go you blue boys, had the elements against you and still came through.

Time for an 80's power ballad!

"You've got the touch! You've got the power!"

Deliver it properly and you get results. You should know that.

Did we or did we not alter the forward line in the third?

Out Whitnall, Hartlett
In Waite, Stevens

Plus we can't expect Fev to kick eight every game.

Yes we did. And did we or didn't we bring the ball into the forward line a damn sight better in the last 35 minutes to give Fev every chance to be one out instead of 3 on 1.

Fev could kick 5-8 every week if he got the proper delivery to honor his leads.

Regards Cazzesman

Caz, I hear what you are saying, but damn if he isnt moody, if he gave the same effort every time the ball was in his area, every game of the year, he would kick 100...and it would be foolish to compare him to anyone. Has a massive amount of ability.

Looking at the stats and refreshing my numbing brain, I will revise my BOG , Fev is obviously the major player with the most influence in the game but boy didn't Eddie have a good one, took the most marks (9) and even had a hit out credited to him, which actually happened... Cloke is worth a mention as he is grabbing his oppurtunity. Liked a lot from all of the players tonight, all did some thing good.

ps Cazzesman is right , JR had another good game, someone said last week he is following what 1AW did in his development, hope he plays on Brodie Holland in the future and cleans him up as well .

Disregarding the 2 consolation goals in the last minute, that was a 69 point turnaround by the Baby Blues.

That's a very strong achievement and result.

It was a great team effort, and Fev was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of his team's effort up field to set it up, and no doubt he should have bagged 10 tonight; that's coming.

Apart from Lance, I thought everyone contributed. I just wish a return to good kicking form from Simmo.

Standouts:

Stevens,
Fevola,
Murphy,
Bentick,
Simpson,
Betts,
Waite,
Setanta
Thornton

...and a great effort also by Cloke....Lappin, Walker, Houls, Scotland

Gibbs is special and Hartlett is worthy of first 22 in the baby blues circa 2007.

Stevens kicked a captains goal. :!:

It was great that we were able to score so heavily.

I've been impressed with the endeavour of the the boys through all three games, but it was nice to see us rattle a few on so quickly. :)

fev: what can you say? fantastic. really struggled in the 2nd 1/4 and was clearly frustrated at the attention being paid to him by several kanga defenders...that and our delivery to him wasnt very good at all at that period. kicked the important goals, which is always so crucial
stevo: excellent game, really went in hard and one some contested footy. disposal wasnt perfect, but did execute some clutch passes as well as showed his impeccable awareness and poise.
lappin: probably had a quiet game stat wise, but still did some important and very experienced things. like stevens showed great poise and ability to think constructively and clearly under pressure and in congestion.
thornton: the man my dad delivers mail to recovered from a couple early setbacks in the form of umpiring decsions (needs to work on his technique, but so does 2/3s of the league)..held thompson and then grant when it was most important to do so. our defence looks far more assured.
bentick:ive doubted this guy in the past...but he turned the match for mine. his ability to win us clearances in the 3rd and 4th 1/4s was decisive. he showed quick hands to win it in close, and even quicker hands when it came to shovelling it out to advantage
cloke: worked his ass off. played exceptionally well. found space, used the ball well, contested...all very very good signs. was also very accountable going back the other way
murphy: this guy is class. all class. but we know that.
gibbs: his most encouraging game in navy blue. showed some signs and glimpses of his enormous talent. had he snagged that goal in the first...my oh my. his fooling of adam simpson in the first with nothing but a slight twist of the wrist was sensational
hartlett: good to see he grasped this opportunity. wasnt steller, but was a fine contributer...showed he relishes the contest and is willing to throw his body in. worked well up forward, lead hard, but also plugged some gaps up back
waite: again very good. his defensive work was solid, giving us great run whilst his move up the ground gave us a target to work with late on. really pleased with his development and progress thus far this pre season...touch wood this could be the season waitey comes of age as a consistent footballer.
walker: this guy is a work horse. mr. dependable. does the job most weeks, runs himself into the ground in doing so. like waite he gave us fantastic spring from defense and also more importantly was hitting targets consistently with his field kicking.
simpson: his run and carry was again first rate. his ability to find space late on in the game was another defining factor, pumping the ball in long and giving our forwards every opportunity to contest, putting them under pressure.
houla: very good. linked well, disposed of the ball well and made the right decsions consistently throughout the game. like all players needs to extinguish those errors from his game (he does make a lot) but tonight was a good one for houla as he seemed to avoid them.

all around a very encouraging display. our clearances towards the end of the match were sensational. well done boys.

He was playing pathetic football and he did deserve to get dragged. He sat on the pine, talked to the coach, was put back on, and he promptly won us the match. Cause and effect.

how awesome was Feva!! Awesome stuff big fella your da best in da game.

But can i just say how awesome was cloke. He worked his ass off and was really good in the ruck, im becoming a very big fan of clokey. Him and Feva were best on ground for me. Murph, Gibbs and betts were very good too.

They said on commentary tonight, and I never realised, that Gibbs was the youngest player taken in last years draft. At no 1![/quote]

He's not the youngest (Ben Reid Of Collingwood 29/4/89, Bryce 15/3/89) but is one of the youngest.

As i sit here watching this rubbish, i wonder what will become of this former great club. What a pathetic effort! 37 points up and to capitulate ? What on earth is going on.
Eddie Sansbury is a disgrace, i have no idea how he gets a game.
Josh Gibson is unnaccountable. Whyman runs up and down in the one spot.
The midfield have no idea how to man up. Harro couldnt catch a cold.
Will Shannon Watt ever do something constructive ?
Hamish McIntosh cant outjump Cloke. At least Jess has a good tan.
I am so frustrated, so humilated and so disgusted with this.
Where was Urch ? Why the hell does Hansen get only 10 - 15 minutes ? How many times can we turnover the ball ? Because Spud Firritto has a good game against Pavlich, does not make him the full back of the century.
We got the run of the umpires, and we were 6 goals up and nothing more.....
When will Daniel Wells stand up ? Will he ever ?
Its a joke, i am a MAJOR sponsor of this football club, enough is enough, i am sick of the JOKE it has become.
If we play like this for the year, we will finish LAST. Believe me, take your one eye opinions out, and stop pumping up CRAP footballers and in your heart, we are pathetic.

HAHAHA GOLD !!

Wow. Must admit I was pretty frustrated half-way through the third quarter. Fev despite 4 goals to that point wasn't having a great game, along with quite a few others.

And then suddenly it turned around. Fev stopped worrying about the umpires, the midfield got back to running hard and won first possession from the contests and we looked great.

I thought Hartlett did so well for a player coming in at late notice like he did. Presented well, won the ball in the air and on the ground and I really hope he gets a few more chances now to build on that.

Fev had a game of two halves. To be honest I think that's probably one or the poorer games ever to kick 8. But his ability to slot a goal from anywhere in the forward 60 can't be discounted.

AB looked a little lost early on, but was so important in the second half comeback. He's not flashy, or fashionable but he gets the job done. If you're at the game you might not notice him, but he does so much hard work under the packs. There were many times in the last 1/4 and a half where he broke a tackle or two and got the ball clear for us.

Simmo was great again. Can win the ball in a pack or in the air, but really excels when he gets the ball in some space and can deliver into the forward 50.

Murph was maybe a little quiet for possessions, but if he slots 2 goals every time he is quiet, then you'll take that any day. Class.

The boys in the ruck probably broke even in the contests but were much better around the ground. Really promising.

Betts and Fisher were both great. I must admit doubts had crept into my thinking regarding both of them. Neither had quiet delivered what they were there for until tonight, but if they can repeat the performances they put in tonight then the Blues will be a much better team.

Go Blues!

Who cares how young he is aslong as he is a star :). Baby judd in the making :) Cant wait till he picks up the tempo of the game and reading it. Hes not in the right places at the moment to get the ball. He needs lessons from Stevo :)

Blues were wooden spooners in the first half
in the 2nd half they were like a top 8 team.

go blues 2007
