Stellar game by Stevo.
How he was not made captain is a mystery.

If only he could hit a target by foot over 30 metres I would agree. 3 misses in the 3rd were nowhere near good enough for a guy with his skill.

Full points and high praise to the new fitness coach Paul Ford. The lads were running like Jet engines right until the end. Complete ran away from a team that had 6 weeks start on us.

Anyone who thinks AB isn't worth a game as a ball extractor in tight knows nothing about onball work. And if you think he won't improve in leaps and bounds under Rats and Bradles you are dreamin.

Yeah I reckon! I couldn't believe how well the boys ran the game out tonight. I thought we'd just roll over when we were 37 points down! Awesome win and it took a lot of guts to fight back from that position. Very impressed!

Got a lot of time for AB as well, would be in my starting 18 every week without doubt.

Are we resting Whitnall so we are not showing the full cards to the opposition during this pre-season comp or is he simply out of form?

It's still 25 degrees on the Gold Coast. Lance might have got sun burnt if he was out on the ground for too long

very good win i reckon.

and people still think we are going to finish bottom.

well we have played three teams so far, and perhaps only Hawthorn i rate as a side that is possibly better than us.

better the Essendon*, better the north.

stevens played well, so did most of the lads.

i have said ti before and i will say it again.

Waite in defence is awesome, im really liking the way our side is developing. Its not a case of if, its when i reckon for us :-D

:-D Don't forget the job Carlos is doing. He has touched up both Lloyd and Thompson in this series and he is only going to get better.

Go the Blues :-D :-D

They said on commentary tonight, and I never realised, that Gibbs was the youngest player taken in last years draft. At no 1!

The first 2 weeks of the NAB cup havent shown a hell of a lot to get excited about, but tonight was a different story. To not only win after being 37 down but to do so confortably in the end against a team supposedly with better preperation says plenty I reckon. If we can get Fev excited every week this year, he will kick a hundred. Great signs. Go Blues!!!

Betts as CHF was a masterstroke.

Stevo missed carrazzo a few times in the third. I wasnt happy with him at the time but he made up for it in the last.

We look good. Will be interesting to see how we go in the season proper.

Now I know he didn't get many touches again but aside from Harvey's one goal I thought JR did another stunning job. Harvey really had no impact.

Geez we have the worst forward line in the league. Just pathetic really.

Deliver it properly and you get results. You should know that.

Did we or did we not alter the forward line in the third?

Out Whitnall, Hartlett
In Waite, Stevens

Plus we can't expect Fev to kick eight every game.

Couldnt agree more, I think the 3 games he has played in the NAB cup have been significant. Think he will probably get first crack at Power next week.

our balance is not right, we are should have a couple more quick smalls on the park , eddie is the only one that is showing some real pace, doing alot of mid work.

we are not having the best from the umps either, but clearly we are looking the better side, fitness will be an issue as the kanagas have more miles in their legs, I reckon we will hang on but they will get away as we can run with them in the second half.

Pagan, is giving everyone a rest , lots of rotations for mids and forwards.

Whitnal looks unfit and a little heavier than I expected , perhaps the last few weeks has taken a toll. I feel that Fisher might be struggling to make the first 18 soon, too many dropped marks and poor decisions.

Gibbs is class but Pago is managing him carefully, he he stayed on the park a bit more he would be showing a lot more. Simpson is a little off tonight

If we get overrun , it's because we picked to many talls. I think Pago was trying to exploit this but the dewey conditions are not helping his cause.

what a difference a half makes:
- fitness is not an issue, good use of rotations
- Fisher proved his worth..I am happy to admit I was a little hasty
- Gibbs has me excited, he is a class player , real classy I say and with Murphy I can now see some light at the end of the you know what.......
- simmo came good, provided some excellent run on the wings
- Bentick has a role with this team do not compare him to simmo
- maybe we where better balanced after all, forgot we had talls that actually can run.
- I think we could actually have a backline now that will worry most teams
- thought Waite,s move to the forward line in the last quarter was useful with withnal having a shocker.
Whilst fev's 8 goals is hard to look past, I feel Stevens was BOG. You would have thought he was captain out there tonight.

Now I going to watch the recorded DVD I made and make proper notes.
