And BV lance is going for the ball until the moment he realizes he cannot get to it (shit kick) and then he tries to not be pushed out of the contest bya bloke jumping into his back.

I'm not against Lance, I lurv him to death and I still think he should get a shot at Captain, but he has been guilty of this shepherd in the past.

During the Wizzer he didn't do it as the ball was delivered faster and better.

Thank you. Agree with every word. Some people are so down on Lance that he can't do anything right.

That is a piss weak comment Deano.
If I believe a Carlton player was fairly pinged by the umpire, can it not be because the umpire was right?
To suggest my judgement is impaired by some vendetta against Lance is just plain wrong.
Who are "some people"?
Comments like that reflect on everyone.

The rules on marking are totally different to general play.
If I want to shepherd in general play I can make contact with my back to the play.
I dont have to have eyes for the ball.
You cannot do either in a marking contest.

Sometimes umpires make correct decisions Deano.
And sometimes they are against Carlton players.
Can I not acknowledge that without having some bias against the player concerned? :?

No Danny, he is too smart for that.
Instead of letting an opponent take a mark over him and lose possession, he tries to milk a free kick or neutralise the contest.
Full marks to him for trying but we cant then complain if he occasionally gets pinged for it.

Easy up big fella! Did I mention your name, or do you have a guilty conscience? If I caused any offence, then I apologise. I get sick and tired of Lance being accused of everything under the sun(and yes, he is guilty of stuff that he is accused of, he's no angel), and anyone who dares defend him gets shot down in flames. Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has 'em, even me.

I can acknowledge a correct free kick against a Carlton player, but if Lance holding his ground in a marking contest is shepherding then every single marking contest in every game will end in a shepherding free kick.

Anyways, maybe my wording was a little out. Apologies to anyone offended (heaven forbid).

The umpire is NEVER right when paying a free kick against a Carlton player and is ALWAYS right when giving a Carlton player a free.

That's the way I see it anyway.
