I reckon that Benny McGlynn from the Hawks may have been in our best tonight.

Fair dinkum, could he have turned the ball over or be caught holding the ball any more?

Obviously had Sticks on his bedroom wall growing up.

He definitely won the Luke O'Sullivan award last night :-D

C'mon mate, be fair.

You can't give an award bearing the Rhino's name to anyone that doesn't suffer a freak injury, let alone no freak injury after just hitting form?

The David Gallagher Award perhaps?

David Gallagher never got the ball to be caught with it :-D

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Rhino, but getting caught holding the ball was his specialty :-D

Fev played like a "multi" millionaire today and he wasn't switched on!
Looking for 9 pointers, bannana kicks and swan diving are all examples.
Luckily he has another couple of weeks before Pagan discusses his attitude.

Apart from that, the boys still made too many mistakes and didn't capitolise up forward, but we WON. :-D
Bring on Fremantle, a top 4 side and lets see how far we are off. With 2 good hit outs now and the season 3 weeks away, it will be a good indication.

He definitely started on Boyle, the 10 boys made mention of it more than a few times, especially at quarter time, with Wallsy making comment of the lack of respect shown toward Boyle.

I know he didn't finish on Boyle, as Saddington finished on him, but I'm not sure how much time he spent on Little however.

I thought it was O'Hailpin that was playing on Doyle at the start.

I'll do you the right thing, I'll watch the game again during the week, and if I am wrong, I'll be the first to say it was an incorrect comment.

However, seeing as it's not a urinal pissing contest, I'll stick by what I saw for the time being, and agree to disagree until then.

Dont bother wasting your time watching it again.Channel 10's commentary was as bad your game analysis, and the "10 boys"were at the game!!

Geez, talk about cracking the sads simply because of you-know-what.

I thought the 10 team did a great job. Vossy is easily the best special comments man in the game at the moment, and has been doing it for what, 2 weeks? Walls has become a lot more bearable, nowhere near as much "I told you this would happen", and Tim Lane does a decent job of being neutral during a Carlton game, whilst at the same time obviously showing he knows more about our list than any other of the main commentators.

Isn't as ridiculously over the top as 9's, isn't as bland as 7's.

As for my review, well, think what you like, I respect your views on here, and you evidently don't respect my views on your son's game last night. I'm fine with that.

Dun worry DOA Tex did a good job of rebounding out of the backline yes some of the kicks didnt hit targets some did ... plenty of players on both sides still need to work on the disposal and awareness of whats up the ground.

So maybe these still needs to be work done on disposals and awareness but the big thing tonight people seem to forget was that the players put in 4 quarters / we where playing a pressure role to stop the Hawks run and upset there game of running the lines. So yep we made mistaes but i guess we pressured the hawks to make more msitakes than we did.

I spoke to a die hard hawk on Friday who was super confident the Hawks would easily account for the Blues made a case of how talented the Hawks list was. I replied the weakness of the Hawks is the tendency under pressure to revert to there chipping game and stiffle the clow of there game plan. And guess what yer we made mistakes but we certainly upset there running game and maintained the pressure over 4 quarters except for the start of the game.

So lets look at the positives overall not specifics and yep its a NAB game.

A win is a win we have new President we have added more talented kids to the squad many of our kids have been punished with many defeats and losses over the last 2-3 years a Win is a win at this stage and will only be a good thing.

i thought Fev played a good game. Kicked 2 goals, probaly should have been more but he really tried. Gave a lot of one percenters and caused a lot of turnovers. His forward pressure was also very good. By the way our pressure and tackling i think has been awesome so far. But yeh with Fev i thought he did very well. He did get frustrated coz the umps and playing on 2 or 3 opponents at time but i think that's alright.

You cannot question his effort. Fev is a star and gave his 100%.

Well Done Feva.

Yes, from what I could see last night he was and Russell did a fantastic job. The last few games Bateman has played against us he has slaughtered us with his run from our forward line. Russell did well to tag him out of the game despite a few reports here questioning performance last night.

Folks, its just the NAB cup, the negative crap here when we win a game is just F'ing ridiculous. whats going to happen in the real season if we lose a game, this website is going to melt down.

DOA, agree with you, I think Andrew was covering for other players as they where either blocked or caught behind and Andrew had the leg speed and left his man to cover. But you can understand why people may think Andrew was on Boyle when they only see them in a frame on the TV.

Tommi - When are we all coming over to your place to watch the footy on the big new screen ??

Softcock. Give me the stats. His tackling stats are pathetic compared to any key backman regardless of an inch or two. 8)

That's because he usually wins the ball.

There was no direct comment from the commentators that Walker was on Boyle. Scotland wouldn't have been on him would he? That would explain the freedom....

I hate 10, I don't like Voss and his comments and I particularly can't stand Quartermain which was one bonus out of last night I suppose...

Re: our skills, I actually thought aside from the first 5 or so minutes of the first quarter they were top-notch, then fell away as the game progressed.

Walker's skills by foot worked against that trend though.

Was good to see him using his pace to get into open field, then using that space to slow down before he kicked. Still plenty of sprayed kicks but they were ill-directed rather than efforts off the side of the boot, etc.
