The Fevola show returns
13 May 2005 Herald Sun

IT'S a good thing Brendan Fevola's suspension wasn't leading into the finals or his manager might be trying to find him a new home rather than strike a better deal with the Blues.

All sides try to derail quality players such as Fevola. If I was Mark Thompson, I'd encourage Matthew Scarlett tonight to legally terrorise Fev -- verbally and physically.

But the message that would have been spelt out clearly to Fevola by Pagan would be to keep your head.

All players feel frustrated at times by negating tactics and when things aren't going your way the natural urge is to strike at the tagger or close-checking opponent.

But an undisciplined response won't be tolerated by the coach if it costs the team. I wouldn't like to be in Brendan's shoes if it happens again.

Interesting to see how he responds tonight. Wouldn't like to be in his shoes if he did it again.

Fair article by Schwass. He's been through it before and looking back on it, he took it tough, got traded for it (of course this wasn't publicly stated).

Hopefully he plays like the WC tonight.

Let's hope the 'Lance' AND 'Fev show can come back to Prime Time. What the hell happened to that show? I Loved that Show.....................now, i'm surviving on re-runs!!!!!!!!

If Fev can kick 5 and Lance can kick 3, we are in with a chance. But those figures would be 'minimum!'.

Difficult situation for Fev.

Umpires and the Match Review Panel have shown that choking Fev is not an offence so Scarlett will be going full bore to unsettle him. If he responds he'll be pinged. If he doesnt then he remains a target for the rest of his career. Lloyd went through a simiar problem and decided to come out swinging. He got suspended a few times but he is rarely subjected to the kind of harassment that he used to cop.
What is Fev to do??
May be smart for him to tell the umpire to keep an eye on Scarlett. Even if he isnt doing anything, subconsiously itll be in the umps mind
