Glad we got our reward - we looked the better team all night.

With plenty of young kids, get used to the big starts and running on empty later on - it nearly did us tonight. Bombers also had a game under their belt to make it even more obvious.

Waite, Carrots, Simmo, Walks all great. JR showed some great signs, too.

Wins like this huge for self belief.

I reckon it is going to be a good year.

Realy looked strong.

The skill level was pretty good too.

Ratts and Braddles have really stamped their mark on the group perhaps?

Was impressed with the effort in the first half, playing on and moving the ball fast into the forward which had structure and 1 on 1 contests. Some really good signs and positives to look forward to. At least Ackland will provide another marking option around the ground but we look short in the ruck department Cloke and Ack. Good to see T-bird playing and seemed to be a bit more happier now that he is not the number 1 defender. Coo dos to Carlos, great game and I loved it when he just stuck up the arms in front of Hird and took the mark, the look on Hirds face was priceless.

Either they tired as it was their first real hitout so far but there was not too much I liked from the second half. We went back to same bad bad habits when in front and the scum were coming back, they just need to get that killer instinct and don't stop. The run had gone, numbers behind the ball, forward line out numbered, stop/start kick chipping and second to the ball.

Anyway, its only the NAB cup and no mater what I'm always happy when we bet the scum. :-D

Considering Lucas and Lloyd are top-notch forwards, Waitey and Setanta were fantastic. More practice, more pressure and I can't wait to see how good they can be. And Setanta's mark over Hird! And when he crunched Monfries!

Good pressure, Saddington in the f50, last quarter typified this. But zoning and the uncontested ball was where we sometimes met the slaughter.

Carazzo looked good in the middle but the few times he showed hesitation it killed him. Simpson is really playing above his weight. Murphy and Gibbs were together everytime they walked on and off the ground. The Rolls Royces of the future Carlton garage. Stevo, Houla, Scotland, all admirable.

Those players we had wearing green did well in the first half. But declined to make the same effort as the game wore on, and gave Lucas a pretty easy time.

Fisher was disappointing when he got the ball early. But his attempt to mark just before the end, in the process setting up the Lappin goal was what won it for us. Honestly, he's young and I wouldn't mind him showing some self-belief and just having a ping at those. If they @#$%&! up then they @#$%&! up, I'd prefer to know just where he's at instead of him keeping all that skill in the bag for fear of what could happen. And who knows, pump it to the square and in the NAB cup with the rules, the rushed behinds and the supergoals, is it a better option than someone in the pocket?

Fevola, he's so good that if you look in TalkingPlayers his topic is at the end of the list. Good, consistent and when he took that one hander in front of the scum supporters in the pocket, gold! Russell piped up. Rucking was okay. Walker's mark in the last before getting dumped, gold, and was it two goals to JFK? Good effort and even went for almost everything, could have almost hurt his shoulder in the second quarter just near the arc on the city side.

Overall I think a number of individuals played alright but didn't bind together that well. Of course the Bombers have already had a game to get that sorted, we haven't, so hopefully that is more rustiness than something real.

Of course, pre-season, take it with a grain of salt, nonetheless, okay signs.
