I thought Waite was great in the backline. Houls was good. Fev, Gibbs and Murph. Lance was good. Great team effort.

Ackland was quiet.

Cloke was better than expected!

Might have been a coup picking up Cloke.

It is still hard not to bag him though.

I bagged him for his whole career...habits die hard

Stevo and Carrots in the middle

Simmo and Houla carrying the balll

Waite and Santy in the backline

Fev in the backline

Thought JR looked better

Cloke should have had 2 goals and then would have done very welol.

Fisher except for his kicking.

Tex play a ripper on Hird I thought.

How good was Murph also.

and bloody hell Gibbs may just be as good

Cloke pretty good for an ex-collywobble hack.

Looks like he will play a few games this year.

Cloke was impressive first up. Looks trim and fit to what I use to see.

JR looked comfortable and confident tonight. :-D

Stevo is back if he stays injury free.

Simmo tooks two magnificent marks under pressure at the end. Lucky Eddie received that corky

Carlos and Waite solid. Frees T-Bird up to roam and setup play.

Carrazzo was great in the middle, both he and Murphy have that balance and strong hips to keep their feet when tackled.

Houligan was great until the last 5 minutes, mental block (As opposed to mental breakdown :-D ).

Gibbs showed his class in the first half. Drooooooolll. Not fussed he didn't get much game time in the second half, long season ahead.

The rotations were good tonight also. Plenty of rest for the younger guys.

Considering Essendon* come to play, it was a good result.

Thought JR was a standout tonight and dominated clearances early. His best game by far. His crunch on the Essendon* defender in the marking contest spilled the ball that set up the Stevens goal.

Waite was a general at CHB and just read the play beautifully freeing up Captain Lance to the forward line.

Fevola using Gadget as a stepladder was brilliant.

Fevola flattening someone new Essendon* player in the first term with a fair hip and shoulder was brilliant (didnt hurt the guy, just welcomed him to AFL).

Murphy was great.

Gibbs was exciting and seemed excited!

Walker was huge and his crunch mark in the last quarter looked painful but it was a sign of courage.

Setanta didnt have to do a great deal but his mark in front of Hird was a brilliant highlight. Got to be happy with his performance.

Cloke did well but needs to improve kicking.

Simpson not his best game but we know what he's capable of.

Kennedy makes me whince every time he goes for a mark down on the ground he looks like he's going to pop a knee... but he's going to be a VERY good player for the Blues.

Great to get that winning feeling.

The big plusses were Waite down back, Russell and gulp Cloke who was very good especially early in the clearances. Unfortunately he shares his fathers ability to miss a sitter from the goalsquare.

Not that he did much tonight, but I really like the look of Jackson.

Waite was terrific, BOG for mine- great in defence.

Simpson a close second.

Carrazzo was everywhere.

Fevola kicked pretty well and lead out well.

Houla had a good first three quarters, and then almost lost the game for us in the last.

Cloke was better than I expected.

Setanta was terrific.

T-Bird pretty good.

Murphy-- great first half, fell away towards the end.

I thought Russell was more confident tonight, good to see.
