For about the last five years while planning their match-ups against Essendon*, the Carlton match committee would routinely place the name Thornton alongside Lloyd on the whiteboard.

For so long, Bret Thornton was the Blues' first and only option for the job on Essendon*'s champion full-forward Matthew Lloyd - but not any more.

wasn't that Livingston :?

good to see they got the facts, lol.

Almost always gets the job on Lloyd. Has played some great games against Lloyd especially considering the poor midfield pressure we have applied on opposition midfields in the last few years,

Brett absolutely loves playing on Lloyd, i know this for a fact.

I wonder if he will get the gig this Saturday though?

I would like to see Setanta to line up on him....it would be a good learning curve for him.

I would rather see Pagan try it in the NAB cup than in the home and away season.

Knowing Pagan though he will prob match him up on TEX
