Tomalvin you ain't seen nuthin yet i'm afraid.

Hope that your TC experience is a positive one. If we win games I'm sure everyone will be a lot happier (thinks back to the false dawn of 2004 season/2005 pre-season flag).

Whitnall through no fault of his own hasnt exactly lead the team from the front in pre season training because of a knee problem. Over stating it a bit.

Crap..I've seen it with my own eyes; he's been educator, motivator and outspoken general down there during the backline drills...hasn't missed much at all with his knee - in fact it hasn't been noticeable.

I hope with the appointment today - he might have been given a watch. Perhaps a two for one deal could be arranged with the purchase of Maloufs' watch.

My memory stopped at the end of '95.
Looking to restart it this year!

How long is he captain for? Lance was always going to be captain for 07 at least. Its only a temporary thing before Murph gets the job in a couple of years.

Murphy has been leap frogged by Gibbs after today events...

According to Channel 10 News the full leadership group is:

Whitnall (Captain)
Stevens
Fevola
Fisher
Scotland
Murphy
Gibbs
Thornton
Wiggins
Waite
Simpson

It's a shame there wasn't any room for Walker.

Happy with Lance being appointed captain. In my opinion he was the best candidate for the job and I think he will be a good captain for this footy club.

Not so sure though about someone like Gibbs in the leadership group. I actually think it's quite a ridiculous move. The kid hasn't played a game yet, I don't care how much leadership potential he showed in the U18s etc etc. How on earth has Bryce earned this? Don't get me wrong I have nothing at all against him but this move is absurd and if it happened at another club we'd all be ridiculing the other club for making such a decision. I also don't really support even having Murphy in the leadership group yet, and was astonished that some honestly believe he should already be captain!

Wiggins may not be a star, but in terms of leadership in preparation and attitude you cannot fault the guy. Gibbs and Murphy just makes me wanna go ...... and watch a few old tapes again

Having gibbs in there is exciting and all.....but it just doesn;t sit right with me.

The club should be doing the most it can to make gibbs feel like he's no different to Pick 76 (or whatever). Every draftee is a clean slate with no runs on the board, which is how gibbs should be treated - it will minimise the pressure on him.

Admittedly, he is more exciting than yuour average draft pick, but all he has over other draftees at this moment is 'potential' - that's it. So putting him in the leadership group is a bit strange.

Hope he guns it though.

Long time reader. First time poster.

Do you always have to post such negative stuff? Why bother visiting here?

Thumbs up Red. Lead this team to many respectable victories in '07.

Well done Lance!...He is CAPTAIN now folks...The decision has been made... 8)
