That was actually Mark Porter Kouta - & still to this day is a contributing factor to why I can't stand Porter. Even though it wasn't intentional, I had high hopes for Sean Charles.

Brent Heavers broken leg was pretty bad too. I was sitting at the players race & could see the bone through the skin, it was foul..

West Coast game as mentioned already, there were tears at the end of that game, just wonering what more we had to do to win a bloody game.

I don't miss many carlton games but 2 that I did miss were the Milburn game (due to work) & the game against the saints as mentioned above. That was the night of Andrew McKay's testimonial so I was prettying myself up - yes it took all day ok!!!

Just on Macca's testimonal, what a top night it was. I especially loved it when at about 11pm that night you looked at me and said 'Where did Shawn go?' I told you he never came to the testimonial to start with!! Ahhh fond memories!

Two games stand out for me

- Cappers goal to get Walls sacked
- Port Adelaide and Tredrea. First time I ever left a Carlton game early, believe it was just before 3/4 time too. Have rated Tredrea very highly ever since then.

don't think it was '78 AGRO. as harry who would say on get smart "two possibilites mr AGRO":

1979:

the game when harmesy kicked what we all thought was the sealer and jumped into percy's arms. perc was holding piggy with one arm while saluting with the other.

that morning i had my first shave and looked hilarious after having had this bum-fluff for a few months. i think that's where my shaving aversion began!!

1981:

that '79 game may have been won by glendinning. north did it to us so many times in those days that all those games blur into one! i remember in 81 we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory a couple of times, most (in)famously the Essendon* game

having said all that ... you may be right afterall ....

on topic ... the 9 goal thumping from filth in 81 when daicos kicked 1000 goals on doull or hunter

There have been a few despite our great history there. What springs to mind:

That terrible ‘Tredrea day’ agst Port in 98.
R1 89 vs John Georgiades (Footscray)
R1 90 vs the Swans. As someone said, up by over 40 pts and then…
Maybe 91, Hawthorn mauling us towards the end of the season by over 100pts.
R1 85 Beasley kicking 10 agst us
That game in 2000 against WB where they got that abominable in the back agst Beauie and got up by a goal, ending our 13 game winning streak.

I haven’t lived in Melb for the past 4 years, so missed those terrible days of 02.

One of the worst for me was Rnd 1, 1985, against Footscray - 30 March. We got done.

One reason it stands out is because it was to be the only game I'd get to during the first half of the season. At that stage I had a job which required me to work on Saturdays. The next game I went to was the return match at Western Oval. We got done there, too.

89 vs the Bears for me - absolutely terrible.

Fortunately I've been up here since 2001, so I've missed some of our more recent horror stories...

Being up by 6 goals over Brisbane at half time, and then they ended up caning us by 10 goals or so.

Waite's first match (I think), played a gem in the first half on Aker, even managed to get Aker dragged.

That was a great match and a shit match all at once. I remember watching it on telly, absolutely stoked until Pikey came on and changed the match. It ended up quite depressing.

One of the worst aspects of that game was that Sam Newman allegedly said Brisbane were going to thrash us even when we were six goals up.

The worst possible incident for me at PP had to be in 1982 when a young father by the name of Robert Dickson died as a result of hitting his head when felled by a king-hit.
We were having a post match drink in the Top Mark Club(glassed box at the end of the Pratt Stand) and saw the consequences of the incident not 30 metres away. The poor guys 6 year old was just standing there in shock and disbelief.
Absolutely soul destroying....

As for the football the ones that spring to mind are Blights kick,Fitzy's penalty for slow play,a first round loss by a goal to Richmond in 1966 and a thrashing by Collingwood in 1976.The latter i remember as the debute of Tony Pickett and Leigh McConnon...

For collective disappointments at PP, any loss against Hawthorn when it was their home game.Social Club members at those games were restricted to the top deck. There were many colourfull verbal exchanges between the 2 decks...

Couple of years back, sat in the pouring rain (thunderstorm & all) and watched Riccuito flatten Lappin & Houlihan (I think) as well as kick 5 in a Adelaide win.

Could've been me. But I'm not fat, I'm just big boned.

Sat next to a bloke who I turned to & said that it was so cold it was freezing my balls off. He said he didn't have any. Was that you knackers?

yep Dom remember that day against Fitzroy when that poor fellah got felled. Was prolly one of the worst memories of football full stop.

Sittin in the Hawthorn (as it was known) and watchin Magro take out Jezza cried that day

The disbelief of watchin Essendon* come back and beat us. The time wasting free against Fitzpatrick so sole distroying

If it was the one in 2001 when it was pissing down rain, he flattened Whitnall in the goal square with a body slam before the ball had even been bounced.

Lance had a shot in front of goal but missed as he was not all there.
