All that is needed from a good leader really (aside from financial assistance) is to give the supporters a dream of better times ahead.

Nice letter from The President but...

What benefits, other than the financial ones, does the club receive with interstate supporters becoming members?

I believe it helps with sponsorship attraction and obviously gives some members voting rights, but what else?

I have, and still do purchase my fair share of Carlton merchandise, so I am supporting the club financially by doing that.

So what is the difference between giving the Club (significant) donations by way of purchasing merchandise, and becoming an interstate member?

Until each team plays each other the same number of times, the AFL, as a fair dinkum competition, cannot be taken seriously.
