If Fev was consistant then he could be better than Jezza. No disrespect but look at the Wizard Cup games. Fev could easily be a 100+ goal kicker per year. EASY!
He has wonderfull marking sense and great hands!

Did you ever see Jezza play, ryan?
As a footballer Fevola doesn't even get to spit on the cloth that wipes Jezza's boots

I mean we're talking about the guy who was on the HFF of the Team of the Century, kicked 100 goals from full forward and ended his career on the back line as captain coach of a premiership team. He played for Victoria in all three positions.

Fev is talented but nowhere near as talented.

Yeah, i just re-read my post.............sounded much different in my head.

What i'm trying to say is Fev has the potential to play the way he did in the Wizz Cup week in week out! CONSISTANTLY, for 22 rounds per year. The only thing that is stoping him is himself!
Llyod, Hall, Gerhig, ect, ect.................all at the moment are better than Fevola but Fev has more talent. Just no brains.

Admitidly, i'm only 25 (ironic huh????) but have seen heaps of Jezza from Dad's video collection (No, that one.....the other collection!). And the only difference that i can see between the, is the fact that Jezza had leadership.

He gave respect to his teammates, recieved it back from them and DEMANDED it from opposistion players.

But in terms of skills in marking, goal sense and just knowledge of where the ball is and his surroundins Fev has it all much like Jezza did.

Perhaps it's the game. From the way i see it, the game isn't what it used to be. God what i wouldn't give to have been a kid in the 60's or 70's with the game the way it was back then.
Footballers are spoilt these days.
I'm glad Jezza played when he did, cause god only knows what he would have been like if he played now.

Campo is the next highest player after Kouta and this year he is actually way into the $600ks.. not alittle bit.. way in....

Farrrrk me!!!

For that type of money we could make at run at Del Santo or a Kelly/Bartel combination. What was the club thinking? Eddie the Eagle wasn't even worth that much & at least he went over a big jump when he was skiing down hill!!!!!

I don't want to get into a stoush over this but I'll have to say it again Fevola is not even in the same league as Jezza. I'm not being all old and dewy-eyed. He simply doesn't have the same talent as Jezza. Never will. Jezza had the sort of talent you don't learn.

Jezza: once in a lifetime player.

It's funny because the only criticism people used to have for Jezza was that he was a bit lazy, that he had unfulfilled talent and had a tendency to only lift for big games. And still he was able to put together a record which has him regarded as one of the true greats of the game EVER. Not in the middle to top echelon of forwards (and a particularly ordinary crop of forwards at that).

I love Fev and I hope he kicks 100 goals one year but he doesn't come close to Jezza I'm afraid.

That's funny cause i've heard the same thing.
I guess every player has the faults regardless of their state in the game.

No one on our list is worth $500k, let alone $600. NOBODY!!

Fev can take $300k base plus incentives. I don't care how succesfuly he is in the media or marketing for the club, he hasn't even kicked 80+ goals in a season.

Yeah. I'd be up for that.

Maybe put him on a 3 year performence based contract????
1st Year.
0-60goals @ $300k. 60-80goals @ $350k. 80-100+ goals @ $400k
2nd Year. (if meets a certain quota ie: min 60 goals)
0-60 @ $350k. 60-80 @ $400k. 80-100+ @ $450k.
3rd year. (If meets quota)
0-60 @ $400k. 60-80 @ $450k. 80-100+ @ $500k.

and if he doesn't meet quota i hear you ask............................?
Simple, it stays at 1st year range.

Unlikely, but would be good to see.

Kouta, Campo and Whitnall are not worth $600k. Kouta was in his prime, but unfortunately injuries have taken him down. Whitnall on a performance based contract would be lucky to have earnt $10 this season. Campo was lucky Elliot was president.

Stevens maybe close but not even he is worth that amount of money.

MIchael Malouf was on SEN he said that Fev is a required player, they have allot of players out of contract and are working with Fev on this.
Interesting to hear was that Dennis had a chat with Fev and that Fev decided to take time away from the footy show. Malouf went on to say that the club are supportive of Fev on the Footy show that he does allot for the club and supporters and they have no problem with him appearing on the footy show.

I reckon we should leave Kouta out of this conversation as he at least did the right thing by the club and took a pay cut. If Camp and Whit really cared about the club they would have done the same thing.

Very disappointing.. but i hope the administration has learnt their lesson.

What sorry, leave Kouta out of this, at least he took a paycut. ?

He is the reason why we are in this shit in the first place. Earning his salary for so many years, and not being ashamed of doing so even though he has hardly played many games let alone reach any sort of form to earn that money.

Don't think he is an angel and saviour and all good boy just because he doesn't cause any waves.

Poor Fev wears his heart on his sleeve, and stands out in a crowd and is a larrikan. Yet everyone is calling for his head.

He does more for Carlton than Kouta has been doing for the club lately. I would easily give him the $500 he wants.

He is not consistant but CAN win a game off his own boot.

I'd expect him to stay, but if he were to leave and go to say Collingwood, I'd be wanting their first rounder and their second rounder.

They have nothing player wise that we would want.

They could get him for nothing if they have the #1 PSD pick.

No carlton player listed at this point is worth 500k.

I think Kouta should be left outta this conversation he earned his bucks many times over, winnin us games on his own at some points.

I Fev wants to walk cuz he is not gonna get 600s let him walk just dont let him go for free blues

Yeah, but he has to agree to walk into the PSD.
Don't think Fev is the type of person to do that.

If Fev matures he is a 500k a year player.
The problem with Fev is he fragile mentaly and the club wouldnt want to go down the road of having another 500k plus per year player who cant perform to that level.
In my opinion Fev will stay with a performance contract but a solid base. If he wants the extras he will have to work for them...

I wouldnt panic about Fev leaving.

And he is no Jesaulenko thats for sure. Jezza was an out and out standout superstar who could have played in todays game every bit as effectively as he did in the 70s.

Fev's no Jezza...and people are saying Jezza was lazy and only lifted for big games....whoa...that's harsh...he would walk into any time any amount of times over..then and now....

About Fev...have faith in the board and Fev for that matter...let's just say I hope Fev's not hard up for money...that's the only thing that would make the make the process ilogical..........
