You know I have heard the complete opposite. I know of players at Carlton who are very jealous of Whitnalls football brain and really do look up to him. I have not heard one player want him removed as captain. And I am being honest.

I had a dicussion on this topic with a player the other day and your comments shock me.

That's what I prefer to hear.

Sometimes I let supporters' opinions get to me....and they get me down.

Thanks DIAMOTISM, you've picked up my faith in our charter for unity on our road to success in a brave new world.

It's a numbers game.

It's our turn, our number that's up..just like our ladder position.

It's not my opinion. That comes from someone who knows a few of the players but if you prefer not to believe it that's up to you. I think I've said enough.

Do you think anyone else in the history of the world has had their brain spoken about so frequently? One of these years Lance is going to have a massive preseason and come out bending spoons.

 Gold. Pure Gold.

Of course it's over the line!

This is Carlton circa 2007.

Making Whitnall captain is a decision which will please the fans who like bread and circuses.

Whitnall to get nod as Blues skipper.

:(

His form resurrection — after being written off by some critics by the age of 25 — culminating in a formidable first half of the 2006 season, has endeared him to the Carlton football brains trust, mindful of his popularity both inside the club and among Blues' fans, along with his improved attitude.

Geez, you wouldn't pick that from some of the posters on here... :P

You've got nothing to worry about.

I trust you received this information.

Where I was coming from is how I allow the negativity I hear and read to bring me down at a time when I just want the prozac view of our team; it's more to do with my own reality, not the credibility of your information.

Keep up the good work bw.

I know he just wants to see the team advance and all the players unite behind whoever is chosen as captain. He also appreciates positive posters like yourself who defend the players from some of the bagging and negativity they cop around here.

As I stated before, Pagan had said in an interview previously that the Captain wouldn't be named until after the NAB Cup.

Whether or not the board decided on the captain last night, its possible an appointment wont be made until later.

Not sure about Gibbs being in the leadership group the poor kid hasn't even played a game. This must be a first, for a first year player to become a leader good signs for the future i guess
