This may have already been posted or suggested

But maybe an idea if it hasnt with regards to PAY TV (Optus / Foxtel) and Membership incentive

With the Blues being very strongly broadcast on FOXTEL Channel Fox3 so that if the Blues want to view the football live on TV especially interstate viewers why dont we use our major sponser to offer a discount or a rebate for Blue members who sign up

By a Blues membership and get 10% off when signing for the Optus / Foxtel through Cable. or alternatively Blues members get a $100 rebate when they sign on for a 12 month contract as an example
Both parties would benefit ie

The Benefits would be good for both parties
IE Blues increased Membership with added value of fetting PAY TV through Optus
OPTUS would benefit via increased subscription to there PAY TV service and possibly broadband oppertunities through Carlton members

Only weakness would be that only available to those in OPTUS available areas which covers a wide area.

Even Marketing to potential members would be a win for both the Sponsor Optus and of course CFC

ANyway just an idea similar to the Gas Utlities for AFL memberships of clubs but this would be a mroe direct benefit for us

Again not sure if this has been mentioned

It is a good idea Wolfe & something that the club should think about. I don't think the club use Optus as well as they should. Unfortunately they get so focussed on the mobile that they forget that Optus supplies phone, internet & to a smaller extent, pay tv.

I think I read somewhere, that Foxtel wanted all Optus signs removed from grounds where Fox3 was going to broadcast from. The AFL has refused this approach. Don't forget Foxtel is part owned by Telstra, who is a direct competitor to Optus.

You are correct about the club not using optus enough. surely they could come to some kind of benefit scheme that is good for both parties.

Definately worth investigating

If AGL and ORIGIN can do a scheme for AFL membership by signing up with a utlity surely there is a much better incentive for Optus to increase there subscription for there PAY TV / Broadband through Carlton members especially if they get a discount or incentive that if they are a Carlton Member they can watch many of there Games Live from Fox3

Just think its something that Both CFC and OPTUS can benefit
