Well one actually. 1945 bloodbath grand final. :)

Yep. And how many of us have that as an instigating factor for our love of the Blues???

Hey Jarusa, do you work in or around town? I'm meeting up with a special Carlton fan soon and would like to meet up at the same time if you're free.

Was that playing for us or against us? Kicked a few against us playing for the dogs (and was pretty happy about it).

I'm surprised this didn't make the list. Probably the most dominant individual performance I've ever seen.

That's my favourite - immediately went home and ordered the tape. Just about worn it out since.

Kouta at his very best. The perfect combination of strength, agility, skill and poetry. Made Carey look just ordinary.

Thrashing Bulldogs in ? 99 or 2000, Lance kicked a bag

98 it was and the dogs were in first and we were last.

nearly fell off my chair when i saw the half time score of 18 goals something.

still only ended up being a 80 point win as the dogs played pretty will in the scond half.

think it was 100 plays 180 at the end.

whitnall 8 hamill four, think even ronnie may have kicked 4 as well? mm not sure.

Saw 6 of these and should have seen 7. Dad decided to walk out of the ground with 5 minutes left to get to the car and beat a bit if the congestion. Key in the ignition radio comes on and Harry Bitzel is going nuts about Essendons remarkable comeback in time on. We just sat there in stunned disbelief.

I've seen 2 of them.

Kouta domination against West Coast. But wasn't that in 1993?? Not sure that that was in '96.

Walker's first game, don't think that was unbelievable, he was good but surely there were better games... but on the other hand we nearly kept west coast goalless for 3 quarters

Simon, you're clearly a romantic with OO but where we used to play home games means nothing to me. I was brought up in Tassie where the Blues took me as a fan by winning in 1981 and 1982, by clearly being the best, by beating the teams of my brothers, by having the best colours, by having the best players. When I finally moved to Melbourne with the family my disappointment at how crap our ground was knew no end, OO is nothing but a base for a period of time. Carlton fans love the jumper, love the players, the ground itself is just a setting.

Look, the fact that you didnt grow up attending the ground as i did must explain your hatred for the ground.

ANd SYnbad, well, he just hates everything.

But if you're old enough and have you've grown up with it and you arent Synbad, you've gotta love the place.

By the way, the history of the club is important and you two dismiss it unwisely.
Shit like St. Kilda and Footsray have a shit past and will never be great clubs even though they may find the odd good team.

We are a brilliant club because of our brilliant past and PP/OO is that past.

Molsey, like the colours?? gimme a break

I hate you!!!! :P

Given that you hate Campo (carlton premiership player), WHitnall (past All-Australian player, winning goal in 99 PF) and Optus (holy temple of all things navy blue), I would be very complimented if you could please hate me too. That would put me in an elite bracket! :)

Converting a 41 point defecit at half time to a 19 point win against Geelong in 1990….simply my greatest ever PP memory, and there have been a few.

Jarusa, love your work

Agree. Kouta at this absolute best! - almost his signature game except he had so many of them. I was completely awestruck at how unstoppable he was that day- he fair dinkum looked like a man playing against the little league the way he was shrugging them off and doing as he pleased... and North were a bloody good side back then! I've worn out my copy of that tape as well BB- everytime I watch it I can't help feeling jealous at all the fans who had the privelege of watching it live. They were going absolutely nuts esp. when he kicked that last goal in front of the Social Club! The roar and the chant of Kouta, Kouta was amazing! :D

Is it too late to change this list?

Sorry I missed that one (23rd June 1990) otherwise engaged with Mrs. Agro - as Agro Junior Number 1 was being born - time of delivery 4.55pm - rang dad to give him the news - first thing I asked him was a footy score rather than telling him we just had a baby girl.

I was the one who fainted when he told me that we had won.

Got speaking to a Carl supporter after the Wiz Cup win who still has it on tape. I wrote down the TC web address & gave it to him to encourage him to join, just so I could PM him & borrow it!! (Adam if you are reading this…)

Anyway he mentioned to me that DOMINIC FOTIA got the 3 Brownlow votes that day, even though Silvagni was the hero. How many votes did SOS miss out on winning Charlie by in 1990?? I remember a desperate smother he committted in front of the Gardiner in the 3rd qtr that got the crowd to its feet…to date I don't think I've since seen a single act of desperation fire up a team so much.

Also, Kernanhan's 5 goals in the 3rd qtr from FF helped the cause!!

I think SOS finished 3rd that year (or was it 1991) was only 2 or 3 votes away I think.

Probably the same umpire who couldn't find a vote for Greg Williams in that game against Melbourne at Princes Park in 1993 when Williams had 44 possession. (Greg Williams "Moral" Triple Brownlow Medallist).
