Seems like Smorgan has asked for Rose's resignation - as reported on Channel 9 news.

if we got a court injunction and secured goddard and wells then perhaps we won't have been a fitzroy because the on field product would be remarkably better than it is today and gate receipts would have improved...those that pushed for big jacks resignation before the agm are at clear cut fault. :)

why will u get flamed, it was a two horse competition between the blues and bombers they were serial cheats... we had no choice to follow suit if we were to keep up with their policies and win premierships.. it wasn't that black and white...

Sorry Winfield, Goddard and Wells are nowhere near that good.
Dream on.

we wouldnt have had the problems in the midfield over the past two years that we have had in the past, meaning we could have focussed on a ruck and key defender two-three years ago

All Wells and Goodard would have done is lifted us a place or two on the ladder.

Marc Murphy would be wearing black and white vertical stripes right now.

I just don't know what to think about carlton anymore. I love them dearly and always will, and the thought of them moving or folding or merging is something I do not want to think about.

We just need to have stability and everyone seems to be infighting so badly that its making news stories all the time on the back page of the herald.

I'll keep supporting them until I die but please stop this instability and get on with making us a powerhouse again.

It all makes me sick in the heart. The sheer idiocy. Your position Marcus Rose is not to flippantly prolong hopelessness and disgust in our beloved club. You as good as spat in the members faces, the players faces, (present and past) and the history of the Blues.

Hey kiddies.....???

Youre not going to have any kind of stability while there are people there that put themselves before the club.
Rose did it... Smorgon and wilson are doing it.

The redevelopment is pie in the sky lala land stuff.

Ive never seen this board work so feverishly as they are to stay in office.

Make your vote count and help us get back into the game by voting out Smorgon and Wilson now.

when theyre gone so too is Malouf.. and there will be enough talent there to go forward and have a new CEO appointed.

Just make it count!!!... no Smorgon ... no Wilson equals no Malouf! and a one foot forward!!!!

I dont know who will win the upcoming election, but I do know that Carlton does re emerge.

I dont think that our resurgence is in 2007, but I do believe that this happy event arrives before the end of the 2010 AFL season.

2007 is probably going to be another very mediocre season, but one with an upside which we havent had for quite some time - that we have a list containing a substantial number of AFL football apprentices, but importantly, football apprentices with considerable future potential....

And yes, there will be more low draft picks for us at the end of 2007 as well....

But beyond 2007, our rebirth will occur during a time when there is either a prelude to or the opening battles of a new world war, which will start in the middle east...

While these external events do not affect football directly, they do affect society generally.

There is a perception among the public at this time that because of this major conflict occurring, the competition is dimished somewhat, and that it means that our football resurgence lacks credibility because of this.

But clearly, these circumstances are totally out of Carlton's control and such thoughts are rooted in other's feelings of hatred toward our club..

But the public are an irrational and fickle lot, who see things differently.

Short of a white knight with a spare $7.5 mill, it will be the players led by a new, untried and young coach in his first year who pull us out of our current (and now very prolonged) predicament.

I was expecting some kind of a $ bail out around December 2006, but this has unfortunately not eventuated. however a future debt clearing injection of cash is still very possible.

But I do feel that it will be the players who lead us from our maliase. And following clear tangible signs of on field success, $ may well come.

The vibrations eminating from the current board are not good. These people are not wholly for our club.

I am not sure whether they will be voted out or else will stick around to lap up these future glories, which of course will be not really due to their efforts, although they will be keen to tell you that they are....

When in a crisis we have anything less that 110% dedication to the cause, the risk of a deepening of existing problems increases dramatically.

It is quite clear that current board members are in fact quite self serving and do not have Carlton's interests at heart.

I think people are getting carried away us merging or folding, the next thing will be that the club plays backyard footy, any takers on who's backyard they can play their home games.

What a load of crap.
Football is political, now more so than before, but that is one of the worst
stunts I have ever seen from a footy club Committee member.

I loved the rhyming slang analogy to "Merchant Banker"
Sums them up completely. We can do with out that type.

We are on the way forward. The finances are not good, but we have
now got previous players back at the club at last, and some sensible actions by those in charge will start our climb back.

Relocation. I almost fell off the chair laughing when I heard that one.
The AFL hates us, but they certainly wouldnt want us relocated.
A successful Carlton is paramount to a successful AFL.

The article also referred to Carlton being a "financial basket case" and in a "perilous position". These were not my views.

Well Marcus, according to “the Sunâ€

The AFL has us by the goolies. Just where they want us..

Relocation - surely any "weak" club could be relocated as per the AFL's grand plan.

All I am saying is that Carlton is Carlton AND I would continue watching them in the VFL as opposed to the situation of not watching them at all if they became the west sydney spams or east brisbane layabouts or whatever, or the north melbourne blues.

There are a lot of soccer nuts on this site..

I guess they can tell us about Nottingham Forest. They won 2? or 3? european cups... and now are in 2nd? or 3rd? division... at least they have kept their club and people in nottingham can watch their team.

That is preferrable to being shipped off or merged. I will NEVER watch a match featuring a merged/moved Carlton team.
