What a great bunch of lads. Gee I like Sentatnta's attitude and also I have great respect for Sean Og. Going by the Doco he seems are very switched on type of bloke. Has captain written all over him and how great would it be to have someone like Sean around our footy club at present. Hopefully Sentanta and Aisake have the same mental toughness as Sean,If I do then we will see a superstar in the making.

Thank-you, that was absolutely brilliant.

These guys have the determination and drive to succeed & when they do the Blues will have two tremendous role models for others to follow.

Thanks Benao for the link, it was very easy to access.

regards
Ockham

What's the cash situation for these hurling clubs (the local team, not the counties)?

Apologies if that info is common knowledge (or in that post on page 4)...

I kind of feel like we (CFC) should be giving back to the 'grass-roots' level - including hurling.... I reckon it would be pretty cool to have TC as an official sponsor of the O hAilpIn's former club.

just tossing out ideas on an otherwise uneventful day

Wow, I am glad I bothered to watch this.

I can only echo others' comments. What an amazing family.

I loved the scenes on Rotuma - very much reminded me of my childhood in the Pacific Islands.

Just one question though - where was their dad? It may have mentioned something but the sound was a bit dodgy.

Whist living in Ireland in 2003, I remember watching the preview of the All Ireland Hurling final and one of the pre-eminent commentators referring to Setanta as the 'David Beckham of Hurling', to which I chuckled, "yeah right".

After following Setantas progress to date and the enormity of his potential (and assuming Aisake keeps progressing), I believe these guys are going to be embraced by footy public here like nothing before. They are a marketers dream, and it's not as if we couldn't do with more bona fide marketing streams.

Oh yeah, the chicks will love them, if my wife's reaction to the doco is any indication :-D

I'm not into conspiracy theories, but 8)

I reckon "The Spew" deliberately threw a spanner into the International Rules Series - because he realized if Setanta and Aisake make it big time with Carlton then the income potential available to Carlton with 10,000,000 Irish and the related merchandise and membership income would be the answer to Carlton's prayers.

Then as I said I'm not into conspiracy theories. 8)

And our current board has no clue how to exploit this anyway.

Agro, I'm concerned that you have been studying the spew too closely and now you are starting to think like him. BACK OFF FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!!

Normally business men who have strong links with the club sponser them, clubs also have fundraising nights and so on to raise cash for the players fund and so on.
Does that answer your question buddy?

I downloaded the show off the net and copied it off to VHS tape for the bros and other teammates to watch at the club. By all accounts the O'h's were over the moon. I suspect the boys will get the popcorn out with a few others in the near future. :-)

Tried to view the YouTube videos so that I could download them and show my family this great doco but the user account has been suspended!

Anyone out there know how I can get my hands on a copy of the video or the full documentary?

There was a .avi floating around of the documentary. Much better quality than youtube and all in one. Not sure if it's still available through the "normal channels" but if not I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.
