I disagree entirely with your contention.

Zimbabwe:

* is a country
* in Africa
* starts with Z
* is run by a despot
* can't play cricket

whilst Carlton

* is a Club
* in Australia
* Starts with a C
* is run by people who can never be called a despot
* has Marc Murphy who would have made it as a cricketer.

Your contention is baseless and may I suggest you think before you post, next time..... berrrrr......dy!

I think Iraq is better.

Saddam = Big Jack
USA/UN = the AFL
WMDs = Salary cap rorts
Invasion by USA = disproportionate action by AFL on Black Friday
Totally undermined by civil war and political infighting = Totally undermined by civil war and political infighting

Incorrect...Zimbabwe have some very fine cricketers.......past and present.
Andy Flower would have walked into any team in the world including Australia at its peak and was one of the finest players of the modern era.
The quota system and politics drove many of their best cricketer's away and the dictatorship that rules have ruined the game at home...

Zimbabwe isnt much different to the Carlton football club except we still have democratic voting abilities..well in theory anyway.

Once a thriving club, now a backwater third world club suffering poverty
led by a president(despot) who will stop at nothing to stay in power.....I think the comparisons between Zimbabwe and Carlton are valid....
