Really good. Sean Og comes across like he might be a James Hird, Nathan Buckley, etc.

Looking forward to Setanta becoming a really good player, and Aisake making up (cos we really need a ruckman!!)

It really is such spine tingling stuff. For anyone who has left their homeland and their family to pursue their dreams, it really is such an inspiring story. He clearly had the world at his feet in Ireland but when faced with an opportunity that had tremendous upside but presented a lot of risk, he chose to make the hard decision. People that do that on a regular basis are destined to be winners in life. Such a quality person and quality family. As JohnM pointed out, if we do climb the mountain again, won't it be great to have guys on the podium that have truly had to earn the privilege. Bring on that day!

Great doco. Never realised most of the family are Australian-born.

Anyone know what happened to Dad? He never seems to get a mention.

Sounds a little bit like history's repeating. :-D

That Blueseum report is mainly true; but in fact by the end of 1956; every League Club was after Nick.....Carlton were well aware of his talent potential.

John had a job in a bank in Bentleigh as a junior Bank Officer, and Ken Hands started calling at the Bank flying the Carlton Flag; and as brother Don was enjoying his time at Carlton....he signed with us.

So the story about Carlton "having to take the fat kid" if they wanted Don Nicholls is a bit of myth.
