Was at Robbie Williams tonight saw some of the boys like Waity, Lance (who def hasnt lost weight as mentioned), Livo (still holding onto his past) and a couple others... most importantly saw our Bryce. He is much taller than I imagined, but def. needs some muscle. People were calling him "Jesus Christ" and some people started singing"Jesus Christ Superstar, you will be our saviour"...... he was having a laugh at it all and was taking in the congratulations for joining carlton.... lots of presure on the kid but lets hope he can cure those around him (whilst walking on water) and give harlett new hamstrings, teague some pace, smorgon a sword to fall on....

That's gold monsta.

Not that much pressure on the kid, is there.

Was he on stage or in the royal box?

Look on the bright side, it has taken a bit of pressure off Marc Murphy the messiah.

What do you mean Lance hasn't lost weight.

From all reports he came back to pre-season training in good condition.

Has he put on weight or what?

So he's not allowed to hang out with his mates? If more footy players had the character of Luke Livingston the world would be a better place.

Got to feel for the kid. He doesn't need that kind of crap before he's even played a game.

Strictly speaking, it might be true to say that Lance hasn't lost any weight, but only by comparison to his playing weight towards the end of last season.

He simply did not bulk up during the off season as he has done in the past and returned to the club in the best shape he has been in for many years. He hasn't piled it on since either.

More chins than the "Springvale Edition" of the Telstra White Pages.

VFL/AFL history shows that there's been many "overweight" players who nevertheless were great players for their Club.

How many overweight players were expected to lead by example and made captain? :?

Do you think we can get pick 33 or higher for him in next year's draft if he stays injury free? :P

History by definition is "in the past"
Just where overweight or underprepared players belong.

I've noticed in these forums the last couple of years the preponderance of posters who zoom in on perceived "weaknesses"....I.E. Overweight....Too Slow....Too Small...(too light)....Too Short....(but Eddie Betts is OK apparently)...Too Timid..(Hoops)....Tall enough; can kick; but can't play...Bryant.

Too doesn't cut it is not Fev (?) or Murphy?

For the bottom side; we're very hard to please IMO.

I would that thought thats what elite sport was about. :?

Perhaps our willingness to accept mediocrity has contributed to our position?
I'd suggest it's time to raise our standards.

I think a more positive attitude may be contagious that's all.

The Board's problems are bad enough....lets bunk up the players FFS!

Dr. it was a tounge in cheeck comment. I am sure he would still have mates there after 5 years at the club..Good luck to him... he just simply wants to still live the footballer life and not the Port Melbourne VFL life (as as he should still be considering he was #4 pick)....

As for lance... when you see Waity who looks in pristine condition and look next to him and see Lance who looks like he has no definition... He is a star.. but I would like to see him in better shape even if the season only starts in 3 months... After all... Turkey etc. over christmas isnt going to do him any favours!
