It's been ten years since the jumper monogram was changed. What do people think about the current style?

Which monogram represents the 'true' Carlton?

This poll is for some research I'm conducting, so your vote and opinions would be appreciated.

It'll run for a week, and the more input the better!

What do either/both monograms mean to you?

I love the old monogram.

But I think the club should keep the current monogram.

I agree we should keep the new one.

The only reason we had the old one was that with the technology available at the time they couldn't replicate our proper logo on a jumper back in the 20's - so they used a facsimile of it cut out of material.

The new logo on our jumper is more in keeping with our traditional logo.

I like the one we had from 97' to last year.

The old monogram has had it's day.

I would love to see the heritage round jumper used as our regular strip.

It looked fantastic and reflected on our proud history. Who would not be pumped to wear it?

The current one looks like a cheap advertising logo...

I'd like to see the new logo "pressed" down to create a cross between the new logo, and the pre '97 one.

Something like this:

I prefer the new logo because it doesn't look like nanna sewed it on while listening to the wireless in front of the fire.

I understand nostalgia and all, but I also understand how valuable a professional image is.

The old monogram represents our powerful domination of the game through the 60's, 70's and 80's, and names like Nicholls, Bosustow and Jesaulenko.

The new one represents three wooden spoons, and names like Stephen O'Reilly, Corey McKernan and Michael Mansfield.

Old for me.

I like the current one too but the old does have some fond memories, like trying to get my dad to tell me what its inscription acurately meant.

Bring in the old one and get rid of the basketball uniforms for all clubs and bring back the 70s and 80s uniforms.

I like the new one better....It's more modern and fashionable.....however It would be nice if it were raised or something as if it's an addition to the Jumper instead of being a part of the jumper but bleached white. That would be cool.

I remember when I purchased my last Carlton playing strip from the club (when the new AFL logo came in and we were still sponsored by Hyundai) that the CFC monogram on the jumper was raised/sewn on and not part of the same fabric as the navy blue. They did have other playing strips with the logo built in to the jumper and these were a bit cheaper.

Since it has been several years, I think I purchased the playing strip for roughly $130 and ended up getting #12 on the back of it.

Old pre 98 one for me...

re: people that say the pre-98 guernsey looks like it was sewn on by nanna... what about the heritage round one?

The Heritage Round guernsey looks great... and has a more modern feel to the proper logo. That is a compromise of sorts.
