One would assume two years as default, possibly just the one for Banno though.

Very glad Houla has been re-signed - from the sounds of the training report he's in great shape!

Murphy may have been signed for 3 years, meaning he'd be contracted to 2008.

http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 18793.html

Quote:
Not only did the Blues officials tell Gibbs he would be their first choice in the draft, they also signalled their intention to put forward a deal of at least three years — as they did with Murphy last year — in a bid to retain the talented youngster for as long as possible.

So does that mean Chris Bryan will be the last player to delist or survive.

I would have assumed one year as a default. Surely they would have said so if they made more of a commitment.

Well out of that list 4 certainties to go next year you'd think would be Kouta Saddo Lappin & Teague.
3 or 4 of Bannister, Carrazzo, Hartlett, Houlihan, McLaren & Whitnall will really need to perform or they'll be in line for the chop I reckon. The rest should be safe.

I know you don't like Whitnall budzy but that's ridiculous and wishful thinking on your part. I would've thought Whitnall was one of the safest on the list.

Agree though about Bannister, Hartlett and McLaren. Hartlett really has to stay injury free and play some games next season. Carrazzo should be safe.

I'd chop Bryan, Kouta, Lappin, Teague, Saddington, Bannister and maybe Mclaren which would leave us with Ackland as our number one ruckman and Aisake backing him up.

Unless we draft Leuenberger after Caro bought that disinformation that was passed to her. 8)

If Hartlett plays a handfull of games and shows he can play that should be enough to save him given the injuries he's had over the past two years. In two years our list will be so young and inexperienced that we'll have very few matured bodies and minds to support them as they develop. :?

We can't chop Carrazzo, Whitnall and Houlihan.

AB might find himself on the outer before those names if we draft three quickish midfielders at one, 17 and 19 and Blackwell develops to take his position.

Don't agree I think AB will get better. He looked very sore a third into the season.
As for Carrazzo the "turn over king" I'll shattered if he remains on our list. Hopefully he spends most of his time this season down at Cramer Street

I think it's a real worry that you can sit here and know who will be delisted at the end of the next year. It says that we're going into a year with x% of our list not up to it. We need to have a complete list and be in the position of culling players probably near good enough rather than those we know sure as hell aren't.

I'm gladdened that 2 of the 'general' delist 2007 list are retirees so that sort of makes sense. I guess Teague and Bannister and the back-up ruckmen are the ones that we sort of generally expect to fall by the wayside.

BTW, those calling for Houlihan or Whitnall to be delisted have just got rocks in their head. Argue that we should trade by all means but Houly actually had a really good year by possessions / scalps - whichever way you want to look at it - and Whitnall won the B&F. Imagine how good we will be when we can release him away from the pressure point at CHB.

Thanks for the update Mallee, was in Daylesford last night.

Would be good if we can find out how many years each would have been given. If anyone has any connections and can find out, that wouldbe great.

Personally, I'd be surprised if they only gave Houlihan 1 year.

No mention of actual contract lengths for Eddie Betts and Brad Fisher in this article:

http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=301418

They're listed here as 2008 but do we actually know they got 2 year deals? Or do we also assume that since it doesn't say anything they got 1 year deals?

And be careful what you say about people Molsey. I don't think I'd get away with saying that.
