Sorry guys. I haven't looked at this thread for a while. Here is the announcement on Carrazzo. He was signed up the same time as Deluca and Scotland. Just check out his profile on carltonfc.com.au and you will see it. Oh and Carrazzo has double "r" apparently.

Carrazzo, Scotland and Deluca Sign on with Carlton

Thanks Mallee, nice work. Updated list follows...just need to confirm Bannister and Bentick now. I expect the Club will make announcements at some point regarding new contracts for players about to come out of contract.

Houlihan at 24 yo is worth securing for another 2 years.

He has improved every year, and I thought he was one of our best in the first half of 2006...and for those who don't like him...well why get rid of him when he's just about to go through his peak years, 25-28, after perservering with him for the last 5 years.

Put it this way, but not that I'd do it, if he continues to improve as he has, and is contracted for 2 years, he may be good trade bait at the end of 2007 for a team looking for a good experienced 6' 2" forward/ HB with good skills who worked hard to improve his stamina / fitness over the last preseason to play in the midfield; good Akermanis tagger too!

hmm .. thats alot of re-signings and resignings next year !

Yep, I'd be getting a move on on some of them...these are the ones I'd definitely be wanting to tie up midway through next year, so they don't fall out of contrct...

2007 Josh KENNEDY
2007 Mark MURPHY
2007 Setanta O'hAILPIN
2007 Heath SCOTLAND
2007 Kade SIMPSON
2007 Nick STEVENS
2007 Andrew WALKER

In fact, I'd even look at extending Murphy, Simpson and Walker now, extend them out to 2008.

I reckon that 4 out of those 7 players are 100% *damn-straight!* Blues, and would re-sign will us in an instant, no problems... thankfully, the 4 players I'm thinking of are also *in my opinion* the players I'd most like to stay, and I think that have up until now shown the most for the club... :)

IMO Houlihan is a forward. He has tried turning himself ino a midfielder with partial success.

He is too one paced and with the midfield getting better needs to play somewhere else. That should be in attack.

I'd give Bannister a 1 year extension

I'd give Bentick a 2 year extension

I'd give Bryan a 1 year extension

Houlihan ....pfft! ...no comment 8)

I'd give Raso a 2 year extension

I think Ryan HOULIHAN is the best with Adam BENTICK in that lot,Anthony RASO still needs time while Jordan BANNISTER has 1 more year, only as we need to delist some next year and Chris BRYAN,you can't keep a VFL player who played 4 Average/poor games, especially as we got another Ruckmen,so Ryan Jackson should get promoted.

Jackson needs to be included on the list this year as he might get cut because of next year draft players, even if he is good,i can't see us delisting more then 6 next year.

What has Raso shown so far?

He's a tall mobile player who reportedly has great skills, good courage and mobility and a good footy brain. He's really only been in the system one year so IMO has a huge upside. Could be a Jarrad Waite type ...with a good footy brain and good skills :?: 2 year extension no probs!

I wonder if Essendon* (pick #2 PSD) are in his ear :?:

QFT.

Unless you're thinking he'll play on the wing and compliment Stevens, Walker, Simpson, Murphy, AB, etc. on the ball.

Bring back the chainsaw!

And cut his @#$%&! hair.

I haven't seen or heard of him. So based on your description he deserves another opportunity. However, if he is another Jarrad Waite type then we should consider cutting him now. We don't need any more lazy footballers at our club. ;)

Yeah Waitey will have a few youngsters vying for his role this year. Will need to perform for sure. :)

Soooooo . . . .

Is Houlihan yet to sign for 2007?

If so where has been the talk about his contract renewal etc? Isn't this quite late for a player not to be re-signed without his name having been mentioned during trade week and re: the PSD?

Colour me confused.

Wasn't Houlihan thinking of going to Melbourne or St Kilda last time his contract came up :?:

Like your work Bondi but I dont think he has improved at all and would be worth little as a trade. When he carried on about his contract last time and was linked with Melbourne I would have let him go .
He is a C grade midfielder at best and I see a player like Ryan Jackson taking his spot.....would be delist material IMHO.....

There were rumours of Houlihan being traded to St.Kilda to play with his brother Josh (who is not there any more). Here it is:

That was 2003. I don't know what has happened since.
