I disagree with Elroy, but he's write to imply that Wiggo has a few creases to iron out before he becomes as star. Maybe he never will iron them out, and Elroy will be right.

I'd prefer, personally, to invest in something before turfing it. Remember, Elroy, you've got to shovel shit on something for it to grow

Wiggo's attack on the ball and man was ferocious. Didn't see the Port game so I can't comment on that, but that is easily the best game I have seen Simon Wiggins play for some time now.

I too have always had reservations about Wiggins but at least he has shown improvement this year.

He will remain on the list next year unless we can get a huge influx of talented, hard-at-it running type players. The Wiggler's in the side at the moment because he's one of our few players that consistently sets a good example of how to play the Pagan crash'n'bash style. Unless other players come in to our list (players that play a similar game but are more skillful than him) Wiggins will be retained for at least another year... now does that officially involve me in this bet?

Some have doubts about him making it...you're not alone there. Don't think there are many who believe he's rubbish...other than kernafides...if there are any others they're afraid of being ridiculed like you are

I'll stand by Elroy on this one but not his beer bet...not sure about 2006 but 2007 could be a goer...

Its ok to disagree with myself and Elroy but for those who say he is improved can you please tell me how.....yes he plays crash and bash but as I said in my first post he has always had this in his game.

So what other areas has he developed...disposal? no Marking? no Composure? No ...Where has his game improved?

I use Waite as an example..there is some one you can look at and isolate real progress over the last 3 years.

Wiggins has had 5 and is pretty much the same player he was 5 years ago.

I'll take Dean Rice over Wiggi any day of the week

I'd take Rice over Wiggo in a heartbeat...I'd also take SOS over T-Bird in a heartbeat, Ratten over Stevens....but that doesn't mean I want to de-list T-Bird and Stevens.

Besides, I think a 30-something Dean Rice, 3-4 years into retirement wouldn't be up to AFL standard right now, Wiggo is a better bet at this point in time.
