Unfortunately I missed it but was just interested what Caroline Wilsons synopsis of the Carlton non-Trade week was on 3AW this afternoon with Tony Shaw and Dean Jones - did the Carlton bashing continue ?

Whilst still being an excruciatingly painful 2 hours listening to that crap, Caro wasn't that scathing. She said that we had every right to fight to retain Thronton but that selecting Bret in the PSD would be a disaster and a waste (which I agree). The clubs stance has been vindicated though.

She wasn't that glowing either BTW and criticised our lack of success this week (unfortunately i agree with that too) and general lack of good news about the joint

Shove a carrot up your arse caro - you know shit

Bret was never going anywhere - we stood firm and today he has re-signed , JR looks likely too - we didnt cave in to bully boy tactics and showed some fight and character finally

we now have the national draft and pre season draft to add some more quality

look out we're coming and its gonna be sweet

Thats why I was interested - whilst there isn't a great deal of good news about Carlton I feel there really has been a sustained negative attack by the media on Carlton. (eg The Age 10 reasons to hate Carlton).

This would absolutley destroy a lesser club.

Andy, te Age's ten reasons piss take was written by a pretty fervant Carlton supporter. I wouldn't have taken it too seriously as it wasn't intended to be dig.

Lack of success? Didn't realise we were after anyone.

Well, we didn't convince Laidley to give up pick 3 for Prendergast.

lets see how her moralising is when it comes to Richmond and Polak and if she is the worlds greatest reporter why when bagging carlton about going for thorton in pre-season draft didnt she know he had re-signed earlier in the day -no caro likes negative stories not positive ones so thorton re-signing wont be mentioned by Caro - why not get off her bum and do some investigative journalism and start enquiring about when Hawthorn approached thorton and whether they were in breach of the AFL RULES in doing so well before the trade period
Why no moral umbrage at the saints getting gardiner Caro

There are times when the papers are very hard reading. Caro is certainly not very positive towards us (writing that I feel the understatement is somewhat extreme) but compared to that cretin Smith she is an angel. I am thankful that he hasn't been active lately - everything he says relates back to the Elliott days and is etched in acid. Maybe he should look a little closer to his own: they missed the spoon by how much?????

Caro was positive compared to Dean Jones.
He is filthy on the board and football department.
